If you're in town, Applebees at 7:00 is the place to be to hear Coach McKay & Coach Green. If you are away on vacation, tune in to 90.9.

...and only tune in to 90.9 if you're away on vacation in Amherst or Bedford or Altavista...otherwise, you'd be better served by listening in on the internet :)

Thanks for the reminder. Perhaps I can take a break from assembling various toys/furniture in the post-Christmas time to make a call.

Kevin Keys is doing the interviewing instead of our own GMTM. Coach McKay mentions that tomorrow's game against Campbell will be broadcast on MASN. Coach vows to try to NOT get a technical foul this game :) ; Coach & KK are talking about how small Campbell's gym is and how difficult it must be to convince recruits to play in that gym...commercial break...

I love the discipline he seems to be instilling in the program, you could tell when he was talking about the Justin Holland situation.

Games mentioned on next year's schedule already: St Louis, Depaul, Davidson, George Mason

Coach mentions how hard Jeremy Anderson works in practice; Coach says that we'll be playing Davidson so that the Curry brothers can play against each other.

KK actually has a pretty good broadcasting voice. Coach predicts that McLean will be double teamed, and says he hopes teams will do that. KK asks Coach if all of his "system" is in place (probably a Hanky reference).

Funny, thanks for the play by play.

I just got home and missed all of the fun. Thanks for the summary, Cider.

KK says that tickets for the girls game at Carolina are "dollar tickets," so he's encouraging people to go to early church & Sunday school and then head on down to the game at Chapel Hill.

Remember, the VCU series starts next year as well.

We'll have Mason and possibly Davidson at home next year.

Yeah I do remember the VCU series supposedly starting next year, I was just mentioning the games Coach mentioned last night. He also said they are working on another matchup but he didn't want to release that info until it was final. I like the idea of playing more teams like St Louis and Depaul rather than Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, etc. At least we have a chance in those games.

So far, it looks like we're putting together as difficult of a schedule as you can get, without any "big money" games. That's a pretty big gamble. If we can win a bunch of these games we'll have a pretty good RPI for the first time in 10 years or so. If we lose a bunch of them, we'll have the same RPI and less money for the athletic dept.

I'm sure we'll have at least one money game. Also, there will be plenty of low DI and non DI games as well. Coach just doesn't mention those because why does anyone want to know that we're playing Nyack, Kentucky Christian, etc.

McKay knows we will be very young next year, and at this point in the program it's all about the conference season, as you know LUconn.

Ok, so far we have VCU, Mason, St Louis, Davidson, Depaul all confirmed for next year. We will probably play Longwood, and I will assume twice (although that may not be the case since we have 4 more conference games next year). That leaves us with 5 OOC games remaining. It would be ideal to get 1 money game, 1 other Mid-major, and then 3 low DI/non-DI.

Realistically we could go 6-6 in these OOC games with a healthy RPI. That's a great schedule and leaves you with a decent record.

I'm still dreaming of a money game in Texas. 8)

Keep dreaming. There's absolutely no reason for us to go to Texas.

That Davidson team is always pesky and ready to come out swinging. They have built one heck of a program down there.

Actually there are several good reasons for us to come to Texas on our roster. Most colleges make an attempt to play road games near the hometown of current players at least once every other year so family and friends can attend a game. That's why Coach Dunton scheduled games down here at McNeese & OU the past couple of years and going all the way back to Hanky & Meyer we played games at Texas & Baylor due to the heavy Texan numbers on the roster.

Plus there are legit money games to be had down here in addition to possible scheduling against likeminded schools such as Baylor and new DI member Houston Baptist.

Texas is squarely in the recruiting zone for both Coach McKay & Coach Soucy and a roadie in this region would their recruiting chances.

I agree that our football reasons are limited right now to come to the Lone Star State. But our hoops rationale is easy to grasp.

Couldn't agree more Sly. We always recruit Texas for hoops and getting Smitty home for his senior year is a probability.

Bingo SCAR!!!! I am pretty sure Coach will try to get him a game in the Lone Star state... That's your reason:)

There are plenty of possibilities in the DFW Metroplex (SMU, TCU, UNT) but I would suspect we look for a payday against UT, A&M or Baylor.

The travel costs associated with hoops are a drop in the bucket of football so there is much greater flexibility.

It would've been nice to send Rell off this senior year as well. But alas ...

I would imagine an ACC school would get tossed in the mix as well..
