If this is true, do we go with a 4 guard lineup with Rell at center or even a 5 guard lineup?
Paging Russell Monroe.

wow, that's random and definitely kills us inside. he's our best rebounder and we're a bad rebounding team in the first place.
i dare russell to step up.

Tell me about it. I almost did not believe it when I heard it myself. Alex is in superior shape and a hard worker. I fully expect he will do his best to return this year, otherwise, coud his career at LU could be finished????

Apparently in the last game??? Whomever was at the game, did they see anything unusual happen to him?

He went down at one point under the basket and looked like he was hurting, but we got a steal and he jumped back up for the layup. He never really ran full speed the rest of the game.

I didn't think much of it. Just look like he landed the wrong way, was hurting a little, but that he'd be fine.

The way he went down could've happened anywhere.

Well if this is the case, what do we think is the best thing for coach to do? Play Russ, Oz, or Nathan? Or go REALLY, REALLY, small.

Russ. Maybe he can get into a groove if he get enough time or something. The guy can rebound decent enough. That's really what we'll need him to do if we're going small.

If Alex couldn't go, you'd see a lot of Russ and Campbell I think.

You still have to account for our leading scorer as well. We will have no back to the basket threat. When was the last time we had no back to the basket threat? 2005-2006 when we had 3 conference wins.

Bad bad killer news. This stinks. Time to step up Russ!!!!!

Rell, whose minutes were cut against Campbell by the addition of Anderson, will play more again, and may start in the post with Anthony at the 4 and Kyle at the 3. Russ and Nathan should get some of those minutes as well.
All I can say is I'm glad it was something that could be done with a scope, and he should be available for most of the conference games.

I'm not saying we won't miss him. But maybe this is what Russ needs to step up? Heck, maybe this is what Smith needs to be more than just a 12 points every outing. I know he puts up solid numbers but I really expected him to be THE man this year.

I was thinking about Smith as well, but that's not where we will need the points to come from. We need them to come from the paint. If you don't have a consistent back to the basket threat, you're done. We saw that 2 years ago.
