We take on the Campbell Camels (2-6) Saturday night. They are coming off a close loss at UNC Asheville on Thursday night 79-76.
The loss spoiled a career-high 34-point effort by Campbell sophomore Jonathan Rodriguez, who hit 14-of-19 from the field, and grabbed a season-best 15 rebounds.

Asheville led the majority of the game, but had to hold on to a late run by the Camels. Their leading scorers are 6'5" 200lb F #3 Jonathan Rodriguez (21.1), 6'3" 200lb G #4 Reggie Bishop (11.9), and 6'"8 195 lb F #1 Kyle Vejraska (10.6).

They have played several opponents which we will face this year:

They lost at Coastal 85-76.
They lost at home to UNCA 83-71.
They beat Radford at home 87-70.
And they lost at Radford 75-68.

This should be a good test for us to see where we stand against Big South caliber competition.

Did Campbell re-join the conference without telling anyone? They're playing a large amount of home-and-homes this season with Big South schools.

This should be a good comparison game...although that first game after exams is usually a bit ugly.

They also lost to App, who we scrimmaged this past Saturday.

They lost to Coastal, and Coastal's not very good right now.

They lost to Asheville when a kid had a career night, and all indications show we're about as good as Asheville.

I think we're in good shape.

They average 837 fans per game, and that's while school's in session. We're not exactly going into a hostile environment.

Yes, I think we SHOULD win, but that doesn't mean anything. Like Fumble said, you never know what will happen in the first game after exams.

It should also be noted that we have not played Campbell since 1994 (LU's first BSC title). These kids would have been in elementary school when that was taking place.

Point of information: Campbell's gym seats 978.

If I remember correctly, hope your players don't run hard going towards the baseline or they'll slam right into a concrete wall. That place may be even more of a dump than charleston southern.

Ahhh. The tight baseline. Memories of the Billy Barn. I'm sure SCAR can relate.

Terrible place to play basketball...We got snowed in there and had to stay in their Barracks, I mean dorms. They are supposed to be building a really nice 3000 seat arena. This is also my next TV game opponent so I have been following them a little and doing some homework. I watched the finish of that Asheville game last night on the big south edge too. Asheville is going to be tough in conference I think. Rodriguez is a major playing at a low major. He is just a sophmore but he is all they have. Very, very good player. 1st team all conference player. I think Liberty will have a great chance of winning this game.

So what you're saying is my high school gym that I went to the other night is better than Campbell? Great. This'll be a fun trip.

Is it not on the radio?? I'm listening online to Victory FM and it's Christmas music. Nothing wrong with Christmas music... I would just rather hear about how Alex is dominating Campbell.

I think it is game two of a DH...and the <del>paint drying</del> women's game probably ran long.
