A Sea Of Red

I just noticed they put up the basketball wallpapers on the athletic site. I was looking at the one of Alex, and realized the picture of Alex was cut out very poorly so I looked at some others and the players were very choppy in places. The football backgrounds looked great, but some of the basketball ones look as though they took the player and spent five minutes on it to cut the player out.


Any chance anyone else noticed or was I just looking too closely?

i haven't seen those but that is terrible. i hope someone didn't get paid much to do that. I may not be great with photoshop but at least i know how to do selections that don't look terrible.

I didn't say terrible. It's just easy things that can be fixed. The athletic department has done so good with everything they've done the past year that it surprised me that those mistakes were there. Everything else they've done has been great.

Yeah..I would've never noticed that stuff..but then again, I've never really photoshopped either.

No but I did have to get a larger shirt once Bill Gillespie started working us out my senior year. That pic that Medic so artistically uses was circa 1988, which was soph/junior range for me. Those quads and calves allowed me a 36 inch vertical. Lets just say that I don't have the same definition now.

Are you saying the quads of steel are now molten lava?

Well I'm not squating 600 plus pounds for Reps anymore thats for sure.

You get what you pay for. You'll be reimbursed your $0.00 for the desktop wallpaper you downloaded; where should I tell them to send the check?

Not the point, if theyre gonna make wallpapers, they might as well not be sloppy.

No, there are people who do this stuff for a living that are much better than me.

I probably would have never noticed it.

I look at that stuff pretty closely as well, and if i made it my wallpaper on my computer i would have noticed it as well. Im not impressed, but your right the football ones were spot on, the quality of these is a bit less.

If you are referring to me....then I'm here. And for the record....I did not do those wallpapers. The only things I've done with basketball this season are tickets, posters around campus, newspaper ads, table tents, & the Flames Hotline ad.

In defense of whomever made these.....sometimes you're under the gun around here & things have to get done in a hurry. Perhaps that's what happened.

I'm not saying this isn't true (because I certainly know how it is around here sometimes), but I'd really have loved to been a fly on the wall when someone was told "We NEED those basketball desktop wallpapers TODAY! Now! If people don't have something to display behind their Excel spreadsheet at work by 5pm, you and I are going to have a talk!"

Again, I know it's completely plausible that someone was under pressure to get them done, and that's what makes it even more hilarious to me.

This is an example one of the posters I did that athletics post around the campus. The quality of the file is reduced so it's not over 1MB. Its the look for this season.....for everything from my end.
