Bring your positive thoughts here.
Personally, I am very excited for the future of this program under Coach McKay's guidance. He brings a focus on individual player development that is 100% imperative for the level of player Liberty draws. I like that he is very serious, very focused, and very realistic. I LOVE the hard workouts he puts the big men through right before the game. I went this past saturday and Dale Layer had Alex out there just working his butt off. I like the changes to the offices, the program logo, and the extras he has brought in to make the kids feel like they really are in a big time program.
I think this years team will be better that any of us expected. I still think it will be a tough go, but still an improvement over expectations. In the next few years, I think this team will be a force to be dealt with. I can see that this staff has clear ideas of the type of player they want, and the recruiting skills to bring them in. Even next years class should make a huge impact.
I am very excited for the future of this program.
Go Flames.

Randy D..... Oh, wait, kidding.
I love RMK, he is an awesome guy, good coach, and has these players respect, and not to mention he is a great man of God and a good example to the guys. I look for this program to take off under his lead.
Oh, and Dale Layer is the man. Colorado State Represent.

I'm a big Ritchie fan. I admit when we were first talking about him and everyone brought up the negative stuff I was questionable on it, but he's won me full-force.

Overall, I am very happy with him. And he can shoot like nobodies business.

After the Flames luncheon prior to homecoming I was solidly sold. I like the way he carries himself in front of a crowd and can appreciate a guy with a sense of humor.

I haven't been able to make it to a game yet to see RM in action, but from what I can tell he is a no nonsense type of guy. Which at this level you need that. He expects the best out of everyone on the team, every day. I'm glad he's our leader, and look forward to MANY wonderful seasons with him at the helm.

I'm absolutely in his camp. It's early in his tenure here but seeing him on our bench and the way he carries himself is refreshing.

Ritchie McKay has my support for President in '08, and until then he has my full support as the head coach of our men's basketball team.

Coach McKay is a great coach and is doing an amazing job to bring depth to team next year, something that we have been missing for awhile. I am fine with transfers but I couldn't stand amazing players that are here for a year and then leave...

The only jokes I would have about you involve trying to figure out if the hero on the play was B.J., Teejay, D.J., P.J., or C.J.

OK, I'm drawin a blank here, help me out.
We all know who B.J. and TeeJay are.
P.J. Burton
C.J. Cowgill
I can't think of/remember who D.J. was to save my life.

Yes that was a real nightmare! I need to get a new name for one of those guys. I called them everything but LJ (Larry Jackson). BJ Burton was my old teammate. If Tee Jay sounded different than BJ then it would have been easier. Thanks for bringing that up Knuckle. Now I am going to really have to concentrate tonight. I am just going to say Bannister and Jenkins how about that?

I am on board...I like his style. He is vocal when needed but not overly vocal and i think the players are reacting well with his style....

Just wanted to add to the reasons I like RM courtesy of SJ:
Super Jon wrote:On another note, to show how awesome Coach McKay is, he bought pizza for our entire group tonight before the game. It was his way of thanking us. He came up and talked to us for a second and told us thanks. Before the game, after our Ritchie chant, we started a "Thanks for piz-za" chant and he started laughing.

Yes, that was a great move by RM.

He also threw out one of the long-sleeve red Nike shirts to us on Saturday night. He's thanked us for being out there every night since the Barton exhibition. I know he appreciates it.
