Don't know if this has been posted anywhere but I read today in the charlotte paper that Larry Blair worked out with the Bobcats on saturday.

Thanks for the heads up. I hadn't seen that myself. It'd be great to see him play in the summer league.

Yes, he worked out with the Bobcats. Apparently he set some sort of record by doing 67 push-ups in a minute.

Just got off the phone with Isiah. The 67 push-up thing is going to push Blair over the top. Every GM in the league wants him now!

And the possible TOP pick couldn't do a 185# bench press...
...move Larry to the lottery.

Heck, I'd take a guy who could score 40+ points a game if he couldnt even bench 50 lbs.!

Hopefully Larry will get signed on to a roster, I doubt it, but hope he's able.

If he doesn't get drafted or sign a free agent deal after the summer leagues are over, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the D League - that's a pretty good way to play against some decent talent and get noticed if you are doing pretty well. Kelenna Azubuike, formerly of Kentucky, was lighting up the D League early on last year and the Warriors called him up to be on their roster.

Why go D-League and play next for nothing when you can go to Europe and make a VERY good living.

True, but I think you could get noticed sooner in the D League? I don't really know anything about D leagues salaries though.

Blair's not an NBA player. He doesn't have the size. He can make a great living a year playing in Europe if he does well.

Agreed, while I respect Larry very much and would love to see him play for an nba franchise, I just don't see it happening. Primarily based on his size and the weak conference.

However, he could make dang good money playing in Europe against people he could dominate.

And the d-leagues are great, but it's like playing minor league baseball, If it pans out, great, but if it doesn't you just wasted years playing for $300 a week.

He barely did well in the Big South... How can he dominate Europe... People underestimate overseas ball some of the best players in the world are there, Larry wont get drafted and if he could play overseas thats great for him and a good fit, However he will never dominate anywhere

Larry didn't dominate, he just took over games and scored more points than anyone in conference history.

Yea, he took some bad shots, but don't let your opinion off-the-court of a guy get in the way of what he did.

Barely did well???? What are you smoking? He is the all time leading scorer in Big South history!!! And he barely did well???? Sure he will more than likely get passed this year by Reggie, but he is still the all time leading scorer in big south history, as well as our school's all time DI scorer.

Your boy Tyler (and no disrespect to him, I really like him as a player) will not get close to Larry's numbers. Say all you want about him, and taking too many shots, etc. but you can't argue against his numbers.

It's one thing to say you don't like him or he takes bad shots, its another to say he barely did well in a conference where he is the all time leading scorer.

Wow, if Larry Blair barely did well, I think my self esteem about my hoops abilities has just been deflated. I must really be bad :P 8) I need to re-think this whole proud to be a former division 1 basketball player thing :?
