The roster on libertyflames.com has been updated. As many of us expected, there is no Lamont listed. I knew we expected that, but I hadn't seen it publicized.

I've heard Lamont is staying in school here at LU, even if he isn't on the team.

Only one decent pf/center. I'm speaking of McClean. Don't know what to expect from the newcomers.

We all know that it is subject to change.

I don't know why people would be concerned about the center/power forward position this year any more than last. Who did we lose? We will have Alex "back and better than ever", and IMHO a lot more PT and productivity from Russ. Lamont Winters might have helped, but who knows? Much adoo about nothing IMHO. If we are to be concerned about something it should be the lack of a "go to guy" like LB or Brew to get off a shot at the end of a posession. IMHO that will come from TJ penetrating and dishing to the open man in true PG style; something we have not had in many moons. Also, don't be surprised if TJ scores a bit more than expected. He won't have ACC big men to swat him if he has a path to the hoop.

Kinda nice to see the SID guys getting this updated in a timely manner. In past years the old data was up until just before the next season started.

Good point SJ. I think Anthony and TJ will be the guys with the ball in their hands as the shot clock runs down.

Smitty's playing amazing right now, albeit being open gym. He's playing better than he ever has before and has added a few things to his game attacking the rim more, rebounding better, etc.

Russ is playing great as well.

Why is it a concern? We stunk last year, that's why. We still have no one, except Alex. Monroe doesn't get it done, we know that. We had two go two guys last year and what did that do?

Do not, I repeat do NOT base what you think of Russ on the past three years. He had a coach that ruined his confidence and couldn't teach him to get better. He also had no point guard to get him the ball on the drive and kick-outs. He'll be much better than in the past.

While we appreciate the optimism....i think a lot of us are in the camp of " ill believe it when i see it"

Super, based on what you have seen, has Monroe improved enough to break the starting lineup at the 5 so that Ace could be moved to the 4? If so, we could field a lineup of:

1--Bannister
2--Smith
3--Baker
4--McLean
5--Monroe

I think Russ can start.

I don't know if Baker will or not. He may come off the bench at the 4 to put Ace at the 5 and go a little smaller.

If Stephene plays like they say he can, he may start at the 2 with Smitty at the 3.

My sentiments exactly. We heard the same refrain last year.

I was a big supporter of Russ making an impact last year. While, I think Russ will have a bigger impact this year due to McKay working with him, I don't think he'll be starting. We're going to go small. I'd imagine something like this:

1 - Bannister
2 - BJ
3 - Smith
4 - Rell
5 - Alex

with Baker being the first off the bench.

Not from me. Remember, I was the one saying wait til they prove it. We've got a real coach now.

I don't think Baker will start until he learns to play defense.

Open gym means absolutely nothing, i repeat, open gym means absolutely nothing.

I'm not basing it all on open gym.

I'm basing it a lot of it on the fact that we have coaches that know how to develop players now and won't completely ruin his confidence as the old coaches did.

Russ has WAY more talent than what we've seen in the previous years. It's all a matter of someone giving him some confidence. He's been expected to be a monster for the past three years and he's been yanked everytime he makes a mistake.

He's got one of the best jumpers on the team and has never been allowed to use it. Expect that to change.
