According to Scout we have offered this wing in Winston-Salem. This kid led his team to the 2A NC State Championship game last year as a junior.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa.

He led his team to an NCISAA 2A title. That's the private schools, etc. They don't play against the public. NCHSAA basketball is a lot better than NCISAA.

I don't know how Calvary did against the publics last year. NCISAA sports aren't all that good. We've got a bunch of kids here from Calvary though.

I claim to be no expert on the alphabet soup designations in North Carolina. But when I saw this was a Winston kid I expected you to have some info on this kid.

2A Independent league playoffs had 12 teams. To get to the state title game they had to win two games. To win state, all they would've had to do is win 3 games.

In comparison, public league playoffs are 64 teams.

The only stuff on NCPreps about private schools is down east.

Too many wing players.

We need beef inside.

I wonder if the offer came from RMc or was previously on the table from RD. RMc likes guys who can shoot the 3, and don't forget we will have at least 4 schollies available for 08. Plenty of beef next year with Big Russ and Ace, and then Dereck O. will be available in 08. If this kid is a lights-out shooter with high BBall IQ, I think it's a good get. We do need another big though. (for 2008)

That's probably a NC haircut--rumor has it that even Bryson had a fro in Burlington before he came to LU.

Wild hairdo or not I think that should not be recruiting this guy.

1-star??? Don't we leave the 1-star players for Radford, CSU and Asheville?

Funny--

If you Google, "Carter Cook Winston-Salem," the first link that comes up is this thread.

the rumor is correct. it makes you jump higher, run faster, miss less.

the fro is actually half-way back. you can find it at your local lahaye court #s 1,2,3,4 or 5... that is once they finish refinishing the floors in there.

Don't be surprised if LU's interest in this kid turns out to be a misnomer.

I admit being a bit surprised that he claims on offer already. I mean its very possible, just surprising.

He supposedly has an offer from Western Carolina as well. Sounds a bit suspect. Since schools aren't allowed to talk about recruits before they sign, a service like Scout has bigger fish to fry and isn't going to devote a lot of time and energy to checking into a kid like this. They may not have much more to go on than what the player told them.
