Big South, dead last.
LU, pathetic
CSU, not even funny.

Countdown to TBGBGBGBGB talking about how he's going to make a personal attack and say we should fire Kevin Keyes in 5...4...3...2...

I'm not making excuses, but the NEC was behind the Big South so technically we weren't dead last. But that's hardly much consolation.

Oh, I thought I read independants below us. And they don't count. But 2nd to last doesn't taste much better.

holy cow, CCU down there with CSU. I always thought Coastal had support. That is pathetic.

CCU has a tiny gym and that's why they are so excited about the arena being built.

No no no no no.. Im not making personal attacks, only everyone else is allowed to do that, but since its SUCH A GREAT DAY TO BE A FLAME (Jeremy Eck was in town yesterday)... I am not going to mess that up by getting on a mad run on someone... however, all i am going to say is, IF THE ATTENDANCE WAS COUNTED CORRECTLY THEN WE WOULDNT HAVE THIS PROBLEM, not to say we would be first, BUT WE WOULDNT BE LAST... We just need to better count on things
I know what youre thinking, I was very nice, but im not ruining a great day to be a flame, by talking about someone everyone knows i dont like

More references to poor LU math. This is beginning to be a black eye!

It's a year and a half behind right now. It's starting to become an "if" it gets built (by the current builders).
If we had someone for the students to rally behind, we woulda had better crowds. We were barely cracking 3000-4000 at the end of the year. Next year we'll average 4500-5000.

Thanks for the correction, Sly, but next to last still doesn't make JB want to do a

counting?

In what way are the crowds counted incorrectly? When I was a student, they never had the turnstiles that they do now. In my mind, that would mean they are more accurate now thna before, since before could have only been just a guess/estimate each game...

Oh God, not this again.

There's been some contraversy. It seems as though we're using the best available meathod for counting (using turnstyles and forbidding the use of other doors), but some games where a quick look by us would have been 3-4k, the acutal attendance number printed would be like 1500-2000. There has to have been something wrong somewhere.

You GMTM'd twice. You been drinkin?
There was one game where I thought the attendance was way off. Then the next game I stepped back and looked at all of the gaps and where it looked full, there weren't as many actual people as it looked.

I'm allowed to spell things wrong sometimes!

I think that may be the key, SuperJon. With little or no assigned seating (and I'm not saying we need it), the students especially spread out, making it look more "at quick glance." But there are gaps everywhere. As conscious as JB is of attendance, I'd be pretty confident that if something was off, it'd get fixed quickly. Strangely enough though, wasn't this year's average actually still a bit higher than last season's?

Yea, but that's like saying 12 is more than 11. Both years sucked.

I'm starting to think maybe '06 means the 05-06 season. In which case, we had nobody show up to those games and these figures would be pretty acurate.

We all know the attendance has been pathetic the last 2 years. We have to get to where we are consistently getting at least 5,000 per game. We should be there this year, as long as we have a winning team. From here on, it will be determined based on winning. This has been discussed many times on here, and I think we have came to a conclusion that it is winning and winning alone that determines your attendance. Hopefully McKay & co. will build us a winning tradition, and we will be needing that new convocation because we have ran out of room in the Vines because of basketball and not just convo.

I think in every game the attendance was close to being right...there were a couple games where a ton of people came for the second half and that completely changed everything...but it was too late...they already turned the number in....but those were games towards the end of the season
All this talk about the attendance being wrong started at the very beginning....when in reality, those numbers were right on
Next season should be better...it be nice to average 5,000 but the games the Big South schedules for us during Christmas break will throw it off, so I am sure the number at the end of the season will be closer to 3500...2 or 3 games with 500 people or less really throws things off....

I think we won't be screwed by the Big South schedule wise this year. We have a coach that they have no reason not to like.

you may be right...but I am skeptical...so I will take the "believe it when I see it" approach....they've done it to us every year i have been around...and i just can't see them changing now...but i guess you never know....

What's the one variable that's not around this year though?

I know...but has the big south ever shown any signs of being smart about things?? You may be right, and I hope you are, but I have no confidence in the big south at all...
