Such as Medic being short, SJ playing with a Moose, Julie Carroll and other nonsense....by all means please interrupt us more often...seems to be more important than what was already mentioned!

For those in the 'Burg, Dennis Carter has a nice story on the hire prepared for 6 including 1 on 1 answers from JB, RM, and Tyler Baker.

Nice feature...
...a great day when an LU happening knocks Hokie spring football to the 2nd story.

I enjoy Coach McKay's candor in the interview with Rich and Larry. He didn't let them jab him without giving a little back either.
Now let's see what JB has to say...
By the way, maybe it's already been mentioned here, but did anyone catch the radio spot for proto's Virginia Sports Report mag?
"...Hoo's, Hokies, Flame Fans, Dukes and everything in between".
Was that for us?

Or did I not hear that right?

I was impressed with his straight up answer to the question about moving around so much. He seems like a straight shooter and a genuine God loving person. Finally some respect will be restored to the program.

Every time I hear JB speak I grow to appreciate him so much more. He puts LU in the frame it needs to be placed in. He constantly reframes attitudes of the Mountain.
My paraphrases of his quotes tonight:
"People need to quit doubting us... our standards are high and we're going up against schools that have been around for over 100 years."
"We do things right. Rocco is from UVA, our recently hired academic person for the Athletic department is from UVA, our new coach from the MWC... we're bringing these people because they represent the direction we're headed."
"We have the best facility in the BSC, we have the largest overall MBB budget, we have the best recruiting budget.... Coach McKay is going to be able to build this program his way from the get-go."
He also made references to Nike as mentioned above and so forth... I just LOVE the fact that JB has become a strong advocate for this University.
Rocco from UVA
Green from Clemson
McKay from New Mexico
I'd say we're well on our way!

Rocco from UVA
Green from Clemson
McKay from New Mexico
And
Barber from South Carolina
On a related note, I was driving down Rivermont around 6:30 this evening (listening to the Sports Line), and I would have sworn that I saw
Coach McKay jogging town Rivermont Ave.

That was a great interview. Both RMK and JB handled themselves professionally. It was good to hear RMK give credit to RD and his staff and then move the conversation to the future. Today really is a great day to be Flame. There is more optimism for the future of the two major sports programs than Liberty has ever had.
