Good news. I think the real question everybody has is: Will Manger be retained? And also TBGBG, I dont know exactly what he does, but he has a backstage pass for it.

at this time we have no word on groupies being retained AKA TGBFBGB
I'm a little disappointed Jones wasnt as well...and after speaking to a few of the players they were willing and were going to go to bat for him (jones)

If ZJ doesn't find something attractive right away, my guess is he will get strong consideration from whomever we hire for the head gig.

Great News
And if the knight in shining armour never shows up, then Alexis will be given the opportunity.

I really really hope they sit ZJ and explain to him why he wasnt retained yet...b/c I dont think he understands as of right now...and I want him to understand and I want him around this program...if it takes getting Ace into JB's office then that'll be done b/c there are a lot of players willing to go to bat for him...i'm just afraid it's to late (on Zach's end)

a little of the old, a little of the new.
not a bad mix- hopefully that will stem the defections and give the new guy a good foundation to work from

Remeber, history shows the "Big fella" likes to retain assistant coaches for the new head coach. Just look at football.

But in FB most of them were long-term guys right? Our boy Pete is like 18 years in... not 2.

The folks that were retained with football were longtime staffers...
...due to all the turnover at MBB there are none. However, many incoming head coaches retain at least one former staffer to have someone familiar with the program, the players, and the league around.

Can we please stop comparing football and basketball? They're two completely different programs.
For the record, aside from Sundheim (18 yrs) and Gomes (since 1970-whatever), none of the football guys had been here for very long at all. Also, none of the other guys were officially 'retained' at the outset.
Skalaski had been here for 3 years and Roberts, Wimberly and Hickson had been here for 2, hardly what I would call "long-time staffers". All those guys ended up staying because Rocco asked them to.

No. They are the two major programs at every school in the nation. Of course they are different sports but their ability to elevate a Universities profile are pretty similar and therefore the leadership it takes to grow those programs needs to be very similar.

TBGBG... He doesn't know what he's doing with Basketball? That statement makes you look just plain silly considering you don't even know what his move will be. Unless you think RD is the best coach we could ever get at this University, you're out of your mind to think that his firing means JB doesn't know what he's doing..... Just plain silly.

TBGTB will think that no matter what we say because he is close to RD.

Not that I dont think we could do better by any means, but he was good, The Best we have had in the history of the program, if you dont agree with that then you dont care about the stats so this converstation is pointless

I know you love Coach, but you're saying some stupid stuff right now.
Jeff Meyer: .557 winning percentage
Randy Dunton: .470 winning percentage
The stats say Meyer's better by a long shot.
My advice: don't even comment on this stuff because you're way too emotional about it and it's making you completely, 100% irrational on the subject.

We didnt have the best 5 year run of the program with Coach D?

That's subjective. We also had a sub-.500 record that entire time. If you want to argue stats, we'll argue stats but bring something to the table. Don't say "if you dont agree with that then you dont care about the stats" without bringing some up.

I did, Im not saying the stats were pretty, but 2 BS Championships, 1 With RD and the best 5 year run of the program
