Coastal took their 4th loss tonight vs. Charleston So. which means if we beat UNCA tomorrow then we could be in 3rd place behind Winthrop and High Point!
Can someone post and confirm the Chas So/Coastal game?

Check my "if we win tomorrow night" thread. I posted that after I found out CSU beat CCU.

Yeah, I listened to it..CSU won 86-77...The Bucs shot lights out and Coastal was never able to slow them down.

WEF is Torrell coming back soon? I saw a utube clip from Chris Gaynor and it had Martin in uniform but not playing.

He's been in uniform for both the HP and Coastal games, warming up pre-game, etc. Apparently he tried to insert himself into the game at HP. From what we can tell, he should be back pretty soon, if not the next game.

Good news for TMart. He still has a chance to get 1st team all conference if he gets some games under his belt...Right now IMO, Reggie Williams (VMI) LB and AZ Reid (HPU) are locks for 1st team.

Is anybody still concerned with our team at the moment? I say it's a hard fought game but we beat HP at home on the 3rd.

Gotta get this one tonight first because Asheville is one of the teams we are battling for 3rd with. If we lose to them twice it would mean that we don't have any tie breakers.

Of course I am concerned. We beat two of the worst team in the nation. We are still going to have to sell our soul's to win on the road. There is a long road ahead, and just because we won two in a row doesn't mean much. We should have won those games. We have not stolen a game this year, and I doubt we will. A 3 seed would be great, but I just don't see it happening.

That's because you've been nothing but down on the team ever since they lost to Lipscomb. We lost to HPU and CCU on the road, which could be argued that they are the #2 and 3 team in the conference. It was never time to hit the panic button. So CCU losing to CSU is gravy to the already solid position we were in. We'll lose at WU and then I say we split with VMI and RU. The rest are home games and we always have a good shot at winning home games. I'd say we're in a great spot right now considering we all thought the season was over when we lost to UNCA.

I can't even believe I'm having to argue this.

Chris wasn't the only one not pushing the panic button on our position in the Big South.

Argue what, you're crazy if your not concerned. We are middle of the pack in one of the worst confereces in college basketball. I'm sorry, but I have greater expectations than that. I am not being down on the team, but two wins aren't going to make me feel great about this season. We have not won at either VMI or Radford in a long time, and I highly doubt that we go undefeated at home the rest of the way. Besides, it is highly unlikely that we will win a BST game at HPU or Winthrop. That concerns me. I'm tired of mediocrity.

Did you guys see that HPU lost to Longwood the other day after almost beating Winthrop?

I saw it and I was kind of surprised to see it. Regarding our finish in the BSC I can see us in second place provided we can get some road wins over Radford and VMI. Looks like Brew and the rest of the team are starting to come together and playing some descent ball right now. Second place behind Winthrop would be okay but any thing lower than that in this conference would be a dissapointment. Other than Winthrop this conference has no one worthy of any respect right now.

It'll be tough for LU to catch High Point, unless they fall apart they will finish second. I think you guys can finish in the top 4, but it will come down to you, CCU, and VMI.

Third or fourth place in the big south is nothing to write home about. I can't see our RPI finishing much above 250, which, in a coach's fifth year, should be grounds for non-renewal of vows.

Well by that logic, then Eddie Biedenbach should be out of a job right about now.
Look Coach Dunton has been the man every year I have been at LU. I will admit that last year was a bad year, but he does his darndest to make sure the guys are ready to rumble game in and game out. When I talked to him after the game he really sounded like he was passionate to see these boys do well. He prepared them for this game and they responded. I would have him back next year because I see good things happening with the talent we have (even if we do lose a couple guys to graduation)

I think everyone agrees on here that we should finish 3 or 4, but as all of us know our team has this innate ability to be a bunch Darko Milicics at the worst times.

Comparitively speaking, I think SSU 's hoops are light years better than FB.
but still, you don't expect to see THAT on the ticker

SSU is only 2 years removed from an 0-26 season. Either they're making great progress or ... I think I have to go check out CoastalFans now.
