What happens if...

What happens if we go winless this whole road trip? That will put us at 22 or 23 consecutive road losses and will mean we have lost 12 of our last 13 games. It will also pretty much guarantee that we go, at best, .500 in conference.

How many people will show up for the VMI game?

Will they have more people than us?

Will there be more there for the girls game before the guys game?

1) 3500.
2) No.
3) No.

there may be around 3,000 for the game simply because its the first game back from break and most students don't follow the teams as closely as we do...if we perform badly well then there goes the student body for the rest of the season, plain and simple...

the girls won't attract more people...its just the way it is here for whatever reason

Put a decent product on the floor and people will flock to support it.

hockey is the greatest example...we have to pay to see those games and the crowd is great....so yes a good product would do wonders....

numbers are strange anyway.

I read earlier today Winthrop is only averaging 3400 per game- and thats a RECORD for them! :?

how do you explain THAT one? #1 in the league and 2001 they were averaging about 1500, in 2003 (?) they were up to @ 3k; this is their best year to date.

I attribute it to BSOUTH apathy.

I attritbute it to Winthrop students caring more about SC and Clemson and going to those games...oh, crap, I'm on the wrong board again. Trust me, the Coastal guys would get that.

Ok that got taken way out of context. I said I love going to hockey games and that it is more fun because people actually go. It is no fun when we are at a game and SJ says something from across the building and I can actually hear him. There is nothing like college basketball (in the Vines even) when the crowd is into the game. But I get your point. At this point I do think it is more fun to go to hockey than hoops. I grew up with a great hockey team in my city so that is why I love hockey to this day. In case anyone is wondering why I like hockey. BTW TBGBG you need to roll with us the next time we go to a hockey game to see what all the fuss is about....and I couldn't name 1 hockey player on our men's teams.

GMTM is right. My viewing pleasure is enhanced by my great seats in the VIP section...I would say my seat at the men's games is pretty cool too though.

admit it- the atmosphere isn't as good if SMOOTHIE and I aren't there leaning over the rail, hurling insults at the visitors' bench and embarressing my wife.
