I know a few fans drove 2 hours or so down to High Point to watch the men's team play, but with over 20 some consecutive road losses, what's the point in the trip? I don't mind seeing them play in the Vines Center, but I wouldn't even drive to Longwood to see them play. I will go see them play at VMI, just because I love Lexington and the military environment.

Are road wins really that hard to come by, or is it mostly a mental thing?

SCAR nodding head "yes"

esp OOC. ask WU- even solid teams struggle to pick up W's on the road

unless they're playing at the Vines :o

sorry, it slipped out.

Why go? Because no matter how bad they are, if we call ourselves fans we need to support them. If you're able to go (meaning you have the time, the money, and the means to get there) then by all means you should go.

Did I think we would win last night? No. I was suprised it was as close as it was.

I went to HPU. I plan on going to RU, Longwood, and VMI, all of which will probably be losses.

I went to WFU for football knowing we'd have no chance of winning. I went to CCU for football knowing that we could win, but it wasn't likely.

If you normally make the trips to the away games, you still should. These kids need the support from somewhere.

This is a terrible question. One that I would expect from a girl. A girl who is also likely to ask you to explain most of the rule through the course of the game.

No, road wins are not easy, but you should still go even if the team sucks. My number one reason for going: Going on a "road trip" with friends and having fun. Only problem is, right now most of my friends are still scattered across the country.

This is a very dumb question. Like SJ said, if we are true fans we will go and support them no matter how the team is playing or what we think will happen in the game.

The road streak will end shortly. And I can tell you from back int he day, I had more fun on those roadies for hoops & football than I ever did for on campus games. The ride to & from combined with the us against them mentality at the gam es was awesome. Bandwagoners are not likely to drive 2-3 hours for a game. But passionate fans view it from a different perspective.

I just woke up from my 20 minute nap during lunch so I could survive class. Now it's time to choke down a sandwich and get back to class.

I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Do you think Notre Dame football fans are wondering if they should stop going to bowl games since they haven't won in ages??? NO! And you wanna know why??? Cuz they know that eventually they will win again, and so will LU!!! And I for one am not gonna be the sucker who gave up on LU and didn't make the trip to see us break the streak!

Well, I'll be at the Radford game, too, but I just hate to see us lose, and when I make a long road trip, the drive back is just so drepressing and painful. It's like banging your head against a wall--you are just glad when it stops.
This is a terrible question. One that I would expect from a girl.
Conny, I was being serious--as any manly devoted fan of the game would be. Why drop 50 bucks or so (ticket, gas, meals) for a road game, when you can just as easily listen to it on the radio for free? And not be nearly as depressed.

At the end of the 2005 season, even JF was missing some home football game. Are you going to call him a girl? I believe his quote was, "Fans don't come out to watch football games; fans come out to watch winning football games." The same holds true for basketball, and especially for road games.

Basketball is like marriage....you may not always like your spouse/team....but you still love em. And divorce/not attending road games, is wrong.

I went to the Buffalo game. Depending on where the Bracketbuster game is, I may go to that. I will travel at great lengths to see my favorite team play, until I realize my marriage is on the rocks. I appluad the fans who drove to HPU.

I blame the loss at High Point on myself...I think the only time we've won down there (since I've been at LU) was when I made the trek down with some friends. The High Point fans did not treat us very nicely when we went.
