As much as people made fun of the new screens, I like them. They're huge. (Medic, I'll have pictures as soon as I load them from the camera). They look a lot like the Titantron from WWF.

The new sound system sounds A LOT better, if only we had good music coming from it.

Smoothie said he noticed some new seats have been put it, and that's good.

There was only one concession stand open (that's all that was needed) and it was on the entrance side, which is very good.

I've ragged on the promotions before, but I'm VERY glad to see that we've got some good ones going on. I know we do the same a lot, but they're pretty good. I actually liked the kids playing at halftime tonight.

Good job guys, two thumbs up.

And the sports information guys are selling a new color program for 2 bucks--with articles about Larry Blair & Russell Monroe.

Anybody part with 2 bucks and buy one of those new programs? If so, please give us a review of them.

you can't see the lines when they are on. but while they are showing game play the picture doesn't take up the entire screen. everything else is full screen

once they go HD it will take up the whole screen...but i am not sure if that is in the works anytime soon or not

I knew things would begin to be done right in all aspects of the Athletic Department with Jeff Barber at the helm. He showed us what he can and will do during football season.

The thing that we have to remember is the stuff that we're critical of has already been addressed with the people it needs to be. It's a matter of priorities. They're getting the things done that need to be. They're not going to put up a press release that say, "Hey, we installed 50 new chairs in the Vines today" because that would just be dumb. We may be critical of some things, but when things are done right, they deserve to be pointed out just as much as the things that aren't.

yes some new seats have been insatlled...they have much more to do though. this is the second game that the concession stand was open at the main entrance. im sure that the revenue stream is bettr from that location. 3 of the 4 screens work, and word has it jerry and ron godwin are very upset that the huge investment in those screens and one already does not work. a new temporary sound system was installed, though it obstructs the view in some seats in the tunnel area. they are actually going to replace all the speakers above the court. the new game program is ok...the format is for the whole month, and then you would have a different game card for each game. the program is for both men's and womens. it includes:
1. player profiles and pics
2. coaches profiles
3. articles with athletic staff members and players

i would like to see a section with pics of the visiting teams in this program and those school's information, while still distributing the game day card. so really, for january's games you need only buy one program. i assume next month there will be new articles. it is a good start, and very well done.

sounds like some nice improvements, and the screens don't look as awful as I'd imagined.

the programs remind me of the airline mags/brochures that they change every month or so, but if you fly 2 or more roundtrips in that time period you get batty reading the same stuff over and over.

As Smoothie said about the speakers, they are all going to be changed out after the season. The have a new boom system installed and it sounds so much better. Also they have put back in several more seats as well. With the car promotion I think that it is pretty cool that this is running for the rest of the season, but even if you don't win the car that night if you make the FT (you get 3 chances) you get a sonic combo meal, if you make the 3pt shot (you get 2 chances) you get a meal to the crown sterling. So not bad at all if you make a couple of shots. Year number one of this whole group is almost in the books and I think that they have done a heck of job and have upgraded all of our sports teams in one way or another and it will only continue to get better. BTW for those of you that have been too one of the last two home games and have noticed the new scoreboard columns under the scoreboard over the tunnel. They are putting another one up for the other scoreboard for next year...

Why does my picture suck? I had to play with the brightness/contrast to get it visible since the lighting in the Vines is bad for pictures. You hafta admit, they look like the Titontron. We're gonna have a Tables, Ladders, and Dunks match later this year.

My guess would be money. Those things can't be cheap.
