Hey guys. It has been quite a while since I have been over here. I hope all is well.
Big game coming up next week at LU. I wish you guys the best of luck, just not too much luck, and I look forward to a hard fought game.

On a side note, my pastor said last week that he was at LU for a speaking engagement 2 weeks ago. Any of you guys still in school at LU catch Dr. Hunt while he was on campus?

welcome back- we're hoping the guys get a lot healthier before that game :(

if not, things may be ugly- here's hoping for a Vines miracle!

I know Coach Jeff Myer is long gone from Winthrop, but how was he as an assistant coach over there?

(Meyer was a former head coach at LU who has held assistant coaching positions at Winthrop, Butler, and now Missouri).

actually he's at Indiana now. That's been national news for some time now with the Gordon recuiting. You sure do like to bring up the sore spots.

PA-I hope we get healthier too---if we don't have Martin it will be much tougher to stop Blair. And Blair is what I worry about at least in the Vines.

I think everyone at WU liked Meyer, I think he was instrumental to the first years of Marshall because he had previous knowledge of the Big South, which Marshall did not possess.

Coach Meyer was well thought of, especially as a recruiter. I'm not surprised that he has gone on to much larger programs. He will likely be a head coach again really soon. As for injuries, we can feel your pain. Blair running free is a scary thought. If Torrell cannot play, I imagine Jenkins will shoulder much of the burden of covering Blair. If MJ gets in foul trouble, we could be in for a very interesting night.

As of today it is 61st (dropped 12 places after beating CSU last night).

I update everyone in the Big South's RPI/Sagarin/Pomeroy Rating/League Standings daily (usually) on my site:

It seems like Johnny Hunt has been everywhere lately. Is he ever in Georgia? :D

I just wish we had the entire student body back on campus for this game. But alas we have an idiot for a commish in our league.

booo. That's a chump way to win. If we do win. It's not like they're struggling without him.

yeah- I hate seeing us play against competition thats not at full strength.

it takes away from any result, even if you win- there will always be a question mark

and a shame for the young man as well, hope Torrell gets back soon

what type of injury does he have?

This is what eaglefan posted on our site:

"Martin is out indefinitely with the mid-foot strain/sprain. They are having an MRI done this week, but regardless of the results, rest seems to be the only real way he'll be able to heal. Likely, he'll have to play through alot of pain if he plans on playing again soon."

It must really hurt if it is keeping him from playing because he always plays hurt. I don't think he has played too many games at WU when he wasn't hurt.

When do your students come back? How long of a break do the students get at Liberty?

Dorms don't open til the 20th I think.

We normally start around the 15th or so, but all of the colleges here in town had graduation on the same weekend last year, so we pushed ours back a week further. I hate it.

I find it comical that the school that is the largest is the one that moved their graduation back a week....lynchburg can complain all they want about this school, but they do some stuff to help the city out...and this was one of them....they weren't asked to do this, they did this on their own

I'm still complaining about it. I wish they would've moved it up a week.

I'd rather have a longer summer break because you can work or do internships then than a long Christmas break, where you sit around the house all day.

oh i agree completely...its just kind of funny how the city looks down on liberty, yet we tend to help and never get credit
