LU vs Missouri St Bears 2/7/26

Another night, another win for anyone still keeping score at home. Liberty does the boring stuff forum coaches love to ignore — defend, rebound, move it, hit open 3’s take good 2’s and somehow it keeps working. Wild concept. A little chippy early, then experience and discipline show up and the Flames pull away like clockwork.

That’s 14 straight, 12–0 in conference, and no, it’s not an accident. Also… don’t be shocked if Ihnen hits the floor soon. Maybe even tomorrow.
Final: Liberty 84, them 69. 🔥

I blame McKay if the team loses this game. He refused to call timeouts when needed.

Poor execution in crunch time. Stopped running offense and an over emphasis on using the clock. Consequently, we got very sloppy and dribbled and passed into traffic.

This is true. We came out of a timeout up by 17 with 8 mins remaining I think at some point and we just took our foot off the gas. At one point Metheny had a wide open shot from behind the arc, but because there was still ~15 seconds left on the shot clock, he passed it up and dribbled around. We ended up turning the ball over 6 or 7 seconds later. There are times where we can spread it out and go iso at the top with 8 seconds left on the shot clock, but I feel like more often than not, those situations don't work well for us. I'd rather see us continue to execute our offense and trust our ability to find open shots, regardless of wherever they're from or whomever is taking them.

Some of the calls down the stretch from the refs were flat out ridiculous. The fact that JJ Harper fouled out the way he did was insane.

So do you give him credit for understanding his team
And what buttons to push?

Of course not. He is only on here in hopes he can get coaches fired. It's all he knows.
