A tremendous effort today against a good Dayton team. This might have been Cleveland’s best game as a flame (minus the free throws). Way to rebound after the NC State debacle.

This may very well end up as a Q1 win. Have we ever had one?

I believe we’ve had a few quad 1 wins in years past.

Waiting for ECC29's expert commentary.

I stand corrected. According to some research i just did we’ve never had a quad 1 win.

I thought the experts told us the season was already over? We should see if we can charter a 747 for the team to fly back into Lynchburg.

I'll just leave this here from ASOR's recap of the game. I hope to hear soon from ECC about how Coach McKay is wrong about Zach.
“Zach Cleveland was phenomenal,” McKay pointed out. “He really connected us. As poorly as he felt and played against NC State, he was as good today. If there was a statistic taken for winning plays or impact on the team’s offense or defense, Zach Cleveland would be one of the leading players in the country. He’s pretty special.”

This old LU armchair coach was in the building for the Dayton game. Over the years, I’ve seen my share of college basketball, but this one was a must-see. The atmosphere was unreal. It was a true team effort from start to finish. Yes, the Flames were outmatched at just about every position, but the fight was undeniable—and that’s all you can ask for. We may be undersized, but the heart was huge. Give this old LU armchair coach that kind of effort any day, and you can keep your five-stars.

We have had victories over teams that should have been Quad 1 at the end of the season except for that pesky loss to that Liberty bunch. We'll see if this year's Flyers squad proves to be different.

It’s also typical of LU over the last several years. They play their style and get blitzed one night. They play their style and beat a team that on paper they should not.

The 2 road wins against high major oppone6nts which stand out were over UVA and UCLA. Both ended up having awful years, with Jeff Jones and Steve Alford getting fired. Losing to us was one of the reasons, but not the only one.

(unless you are asking Bill Walton)
