Flames 90
COC 75

Impressive win. shot lights out and only 5 turnovers. COC was not at full strength, but neither were we (although Smith got his first minutes.) Played a tiny starting lineup and beat a team with 2 7 footers handily.

Porter with 23
Decker with 21
Cleveland missed a triple double by 2 assists.

Another great test Sunday against FAU, who are coming off a win over BC

Attendance 3999

We looked great last night. Decker is playing incredibly, and Porter keeps getting better. This looks like the deepest team I've ever seen at LU. It is early, but I believe we are going to have a very good season.

I know McKay will probably shorten the bench, but I like how deep he's gone. Granted it's gams 1 and 2. That said, are we not red-shirting anyone?

Based on previous rules, we are not. Have the rules changed? Lots of scuttlebutt but nothing definite. What I'm hearing iis that they will be going with 5 years of eligibility in a 5 year window, and the window will only be expanded in cases of 2 or more season ending injuries.

Correct me if I’m wrong, from heard from other people, a player has up to 25% of the games to play to save a redshirt season. Maybe CM is trying out who the players he needs for the remainder of the season and redshirt the rest as needed. Just a guess

Again, only 3 games with 2 real ones. But I like the deep rotation. I hope he can continue to make it work. I like seeing everyone and I think it keeps the everyone, including his main 4 fresh.

I haven't seen the 25% rule like football has anywhere. But I do remember them talking about the 5 year eligibility deal. Haven't heard if it had passed though. But maybe it's a thing as Torr Sorenson has gotten scrub minutes in each game and even the 6'9 white kid has gotten in.

Any word on Ihnan and the plan to hopefully work Smith in more? I like Jones, but as big as he is he hasn't shown any inside game yet, which is what we've lacked since Blake Preston left.

25% would be in line with the football rule, which has been one of the most successful/popular rule changes ever, which begs the question why have they waited so long to expand it to other sports?
