Doing some research on players that was recruited and stayed the 4 years at LU. These players are in no order. Also just kids that LU recruited from HS and didn't get out of portal. Most if not all that transferred out really didn't do anything at the next school they attended.

D. Dobbs was here and played one year 20-21 season TRANSFERRED
I. Warfield spent 3 years on the mountain from 20-21 - 22-23 seasons TRANSFERRED
J. Jackson was here from 20-21 - 22-23 seasons TRANSFERRED
B. Peeples 21-22 - 23-24 season TRANSFERRED
M. Abii was here during the 20-21 - 21-22 season TRANSFERRED
J. Price 19-20 - 20-21 TRANSFERED
J. Vansant 21-22 season - 23-24 season TRANSFERRED
B. Southerland 21-22 - 22-23 TRANSFERRED
B. Spell 22-23 24-25 season TRANSFERRED
B. Preston played 4 years at LU 19 - 20 - 22-23 and transferred to Northwestern
D. McGee played all 5 years at LU 18-19 season till 22-23 season
K. Rode from 19-20 - 23-24
S. Robinson 19-20 - 23-24
Z. Cleveland 22- 23- 24- 25 current player
C. Porter 22-23 24- 25 current player
JC Shirer JR 22-23 24- 25 current player

Freshman class 23-24
J. Davis, K Yu, and C. Blair have all transferred or currently in the portal

Freshman class 24-25
W. Gibson has entered the portal

Question: In this day and time do you continue to recruit HS players, or do you just hit the portal every year hoping to retain as many as possible?

We absolutely should continue to hit the HS recruiting trail. Because of the portal the big boys will be getting more players from other schools. HS players who would have been recruited to those schools will be left out and we have the potential to get some high quality recruits who would be ready to play for us. Of course the chances are there that they may move on after a couple years. But we also could catch one every now and then who comes in, loves the school, program and culture and stays for his entire college career. I say you get the best players you can who fit the culture, whether they are from HS or TP.
