Well, we have our work cut out for us. UTEP played a very impressive game against Sam Houston.

We are 2-3 against them since joining CUSA. Having said that, we beat them 76-69 the last time we played, and it was on their home court.

Interestingly UTEP decided not to use their bench in this one with their 6th man only getting 10 minutes and one guy playing all 40 minutes. Clearly it worked for them but I have to wonder how fresh their legs will be tomorrow.

It hurts a little bit that FIU is Jax State’s draw, but we’re going to have to win tougher games than UTEP if we want to get to the Dance.

It could help us assuming we want Jax state to lose. FIU lost at Jax state by 4 in January then took them to 2OT earlier this month. It would not be surprising if they can pull off the upset.

Apparently two of UTEP's players didn't play last night? Anyone know what their status will be this evening?

I believe someone used a black Sharpie to give HCRM a more distinctive hairline in the front. :D :D

Apparently there is a bug going around. Will Gibson and Gabe McKay are under the weather for us. UTEP has used 10 players in the first half tonight, so I'm guessing those guys are back.

I did not see us blowing UTEP out like this. Glad I'm seeing it though. Ball movement has been crisp. Shooting lights out.

Very good performance! Gaudy stat line! FG%-58, 3pt %-48, 5 blocks, 7 steals and look at this one- 25 assists!

I fully expected this to be a 3-4 point game given how good defensively they are. I didn’t expect us exposing them with all the cuts giving us open shots. Credit to HCRM.

On TV it sounded like a good portion of fans were there.

It was nice to watch a game and not be stressed about the outcome. It was nice to see Kaden Methreeny back to his usual self and Talon, despite only taking 5 shots was as efficient as you can be.

I also need to give a shoutout to Decker. The past two games he's proven himself to not be a defensive liability and he's also driven to the basket and challenged his defender. If he keeps it up, he may be a better option off the bench than G McKay.

I’m rethinking my take on Cleveland. I think he’s got a higher basketball iq than I gave him credit for. Several turn overs looked like he was over thinking. He throws the ball where he thinks the pass should go but sometimes the defense is there and the offense isn’t. He’s at his best when he can just play instinctively and let his athleticism take over. It’s one of those weird situations where if he doesn’t think about it he will do the right thing but if he thinks about it he will do the wrong thing.

Thoughts i have while watching Cleveland with the ball in his hands:
One possession: What was he thinking???
The next possession: That was an incredible pass!!!

Learning to appreciate the extreme ends that are both baked into his game.

KSU is no slouch. And their coach would’ve been my vote for CotY. But a day’s rest is invaluable.
