KSU's prize for the first seed is a quarterfinal game against either the team that just beat them on the same court or what is arguably the most talented team in the conference. When you narrow the field to 10 there really are no gimmees this year.

It should be also noted that not making the field has to be brutal for the folks at Jacksonville. The Dolphins shut down their football program to focus their investment in hoops and then get this result. Ugh.

I suspect the non-qualifiers outside of Jax State will have greater success next season and beyond. The Gamecocks will go into a much tougher league with us in CUSA.
