So if I’m looking at this correct the only way we play on the road will be if we make it to the championship against JSU?

At this stage I am just taking it one game at a time as our guys get their legs back under us.

Yeah, I probably should have put that “if” in capital letters. I’d be fairly surprised if we won the tournament again given our recent games.

I agree that our chances of winning the conference tourney are shaky. We would have to beat at least one, if not two, teams that are more athletic than us.

Not so sure that anyone's gonna go out and beat us with pure athleticism. It's usually what's on the inside that matters most, especially in these big games.

Who should we be rooting for tonight?

Probably Libscomb. North Florida has beat us this year and they have more shooters.

Agreed. Outside shooting is thecgreat equalizer against us and in March in general.

Should be interesting. There are options. For instance, we can still pack the paint w/zone and disguise it as our base D and match shooters. RM many variations to work with.

When was the last time we ran anything other than our base defense? I’d rather not try anything in the conference tourney that we don’t have experience with.

Most wouldn't know the difference if we were in pack-line-man or a 1-2-2 packed-in zone. Maybe a color commentator would recognize it, but most people in the stands wouldn't.

Well, we got the matchup we wanted. Key player for this one for me is Blake Preston. I don’t care if he scores a single point, we need him to make Asadullah work. Make him catch it far away from the basket, put him in positions where he’s facing up instead of backing down, and keep him off the offensive glass. The less we have to double him the better. If we keep Asadullah under 20, we win.

In his interview today with York, Ritchie casually dropped the fact that Kyle has informed him he plans to be around 2 more years.

If we lose to Lipscomb I'll eat my hat!
This is a 6-10 team in conference and 14-18 overall.
Let's take care of business!

They also just beat UNF, with Asadullah playing maybe his best game since recovering from Covid early last year. I do think we match up better with them than with UNF, but with the possible exception of N Bama, there really isn't any ASUN team that isn't capable of beating us on a given night.

Got wrecked by COVID. Waaaay better than record indicates. Eye test popped when we played then a couple weeks ago. Glad we’re at home.

Liberty getting an 11 point spread on this game. That's a nice vote of confidence.
I think Liberty wins but won't cover 11 points.

Four air balls from beyond the arc................ so far. Preston misses another easy shot from 2 ft. away. Warfield, might be able to play defense, but he can't shoot at all.

McDowell, our best 3 point shooter, is hesitant to take the 3. He has pulled up on 3-4 already. He has to be confident in his shot.
