I don't know if anyone on here is brave enough to give a personal opinion on a member of our hoops team

hope you have thick skin

I only saw the midnight madness, and that whole thing was a mess- so I can't help you out.

Can someone on here that has first hand knowlege give the man some insight?

Its really been hard for us to see much based on the competition thus far. But we should start getting a better read on him beginning with the ECU game Saturday.

Just watching him on television, I like the way his motor runs. He's going to need to work on technique on the boards playing bigger guys than he faced in high school. But with Alex McLean being so dominant to this point, there's not a ton of pressure on Armon right now. That will likely change in the coming weeks.

Thanks for coming to the board. We're glad to have your son on campus.

As usual I guess I will make an honest assessment,
I saw him play at Charis Prep, and he showed alot more aggression there... I hope it changes, because the kid could be an okay player...

to be honest, i do not think much of him at this point. he has shown to be non-aggressive and lazy, especially in the cincy christian game. he got mop up duty, and instead of playing hard he loafed around, and then got pulled very quickly. he looks like he could be a player, but the attitude has got to change.

I have not seen any practices so I can only go by what I've seen in games and he hasn't played that much. But right now he looks pretty raw. He's got nice size, but he doesn't seem to use it well. I hope he's working hard in practice, because he'll need the development to get any time with the way McLean is playing.

If coach only puts him in for the last 4 minutes of a blow out he needs to make the most of it. There are times when I look at him and I just feel like being on that court is the last thing on his mind...even while on the bench when I see him congratulate teammates it almost appears to be fake...this could just be his personality, I'm not sure but either way there are many who feel like he needs to regain that passion for the game...and if he does he'll end up producing for Liberty in the near future

Armon is a really tough kid. he goes hard all the time in practice. he's done a great job at getting in shape since the summer and runs the floor pretty good now. he's still only a freshmen and there is alot he needs to learn but he will be big for us in the future. he has really good post moves and is really competitive.

Easy, guys. The kid's dad comes on here asking for opinions and some of you jump at the opportunity to tear him up. Kepe in mind he's just a freshman. He's stilll learning how to be a college baller. He'll come around and he is the future of our post position after Alex. Sure we'd like to all see him show some improvement. But he'll make the adjustments. And I'm sure its tough going from being one of the stars of his high school team to coming off the bench in mop up time right now. We all have egos and can remember the challenge of stepping up at something in our lives.

soulman57 - As an alum I am very happy to have Armon on our squad. And I see great things from him in the future.

I'm aware of that fact. But as a father I guess I'm a little overly sensitive in this department. I guess I just felt it was a little stronger than necessary.

Before it's all said and done, he'll be fine at Liberty University and he'll be a key contributor down the road with progress

Medic, that is why I don't ask how I am doing on Flames Television. This group would tear me apart :P No really, I see Sly's point but you are correct as well. I have seen Armon only a few times when I have been to practice and it seems whenever I am there he is being disciplined for something and is running on the sidelines while the rest are practicing. I really haven't seen much of him but I will say that at the Cincinnati Christian game his body language was less than acceptable. He clearly didn't want to be in the game at that time. I think he can help Liberty down the road but IMHO he needs to mature a bit into a man before that can happen.

Yeah HMO, I agree. The reasons why he was offered a scholarship haven't changed. He's just making agjustments. And I don't know if he realized when he signed how good Alex was going to be. I certainly had no idea despite manger's raves from practice. :)

Scar I'd say you are one of the better, if not the best, broadcaster of Liberty sports I've heard.

Haha, no, I have heard almost every sport broadcasted via radio/tv and I like you the most, not because you give me shoutouts. Ok, well, that may have a little do with it.

Listen guys, I welcome all opinions good, bad or indifferent. Living in Dallas, right now, I can only try to see or hear the team through the Web. Thanks for your feedback and keep it coming. I will see him soon and some of these observations I will have in the back of my mind when I see him and the team in person at one of the home games.

"Liberty University - Politically Incorrect Since 1971"

Our school takes pride in not sugar coating things. The man asked, he got honest answers. There's no use not telling the truth just because it's the kid's father.

Hey, I didn't even know he was a Texan when I was stepping up for soulman57. :)

You can be honest and tactful at the same time. That's all I'm saying. If that makes me politically correct, then I'm guilty as charged.
