I wasn't good enough to play for Coach Leggett. Every member of our basketball team went on scholarship somewhere. My freshman & sophomore year our starting five all went on to play DI and two of them had decent NBA careers with us taking USA Today Ntaional Championship my freshman year. One of my really good friends was named Mr. Basketball in Illinois and passed over offers from high majors across the nation to play for WIU so he could be close to his mom.

As for Cole, he'll have plenty fo opportunities to impress colleges this summer if the dead period ever gets lifted.

I just looked up Newton's stats at Trevecca Nazarene this year. The big guy is playing 26 minutes a game and averaging 5 ppg and 8 boards, while shooting only 33%.

Those numbers are just for their game against Lipscomb. For the season, he is averaging a team-leading 11.4 ppg, 7.5 rpg and shooting 58%.
