Liberty made the move from the Big South to the ASUN a couple years ago. Was this a lateral move? A slight improvement? I read the Power Rankings for the ASUN and the other teams in our conference are not looking so good.
Liberty #106
Lipscomb #219
Florida Gulf Coast #233
Stetson #244
Bellarmine #260
North Alabama #265
North Florida #296
Jacksonville #303
Kennesaw State #348
All ASUN Conference teams (minus Liberty) average Power Ranking is 271. How bad (or good) is the Big South? What about other conferences?
This ESPN Power Ranking shows Liberty at #92.

I notice there are 8 teams from the Atlantic 10 Conference (out of 14 teams) which are ranked in the Top 100. That's pretty good! Did Liberty attempt to get into that conference?
The Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) is solid with 5 teams in the Top 200 with Murray State #89, Belmont #125, Eastern Kentucky #133, Eastern Illinois #150, Austin Peay #175.
The Patriot League isn't terrible. There are slightly better than the ASUN with Colgate #133, Bucknell #170, Lafayette #199.
I guess the one big positive with being in the ASUN (or the Big South) is Liberty has the opportunity to win their conference tournament each year and make an NCAA appearance, which is great for building the Liberty brand.
