The weakness of the ASUN apart from Liberty is a real problem for us.
Psychologically, it is not good to have an absence of pressure. It is important to see competition in your rear view mirror to keep pushing hard. Not saying Coach McKay isn't able to push our guys hard, but there is no existential threat pushing the team.
When the conference schedule begins to feel like a pre-season exhibition, it is difficult to get ready for the NCAA Tournament. We haven't been tested. No adversity. We don't know what it's like to be down and have to rally back.
We are going to end up playing a legit Top 30 team in the NCAA. I'm concerned we won't be ready.

Reality Check: Liberty still controls its destiny

Thank you, we needed that. An At Large Bid was always unlikely, and we still control our destiny in the ASUN. It is a long season.

I know North Florida beat us the first go around, but I still believe that was a fluke along with the Stetson game. We will show that next week when we beat them both handily. I also saw that Lunardi put North Florida as the ASUN champs and in the tournament for his weekly tourney predictions. Is he in for a rude awakening.

In Lunardi's defense, he goes with the current leader of each conference for the auto-bid. We're tied with UNF who owns the head to head tiebreaker, thus he goes with them, and he will continue to have them as the ASUN AQ until they no longer lead.

The race for first in the ASUN. This is how Liberty can get to the 1-seed.
