It will be interesting to see how Ritchie plays ECU, who has the tallest starting lineup in the NCAA. He did use a bigger lineup at times against SCSU, but I'm not reading much into that. His general philosophy is to go with what we do best and make the opponent match up against us rather than trying to match up with them.

Still early in the season obviously but our offense has gone through bad stretches in each game this year. Right now we have missed last 12 out of 13 attempts and just committed our 4th turnover. Hopefully we get that straightened out soon.

And we've blown it open in the 2nd half: leading 55 - 35

So I gotta say, there was a point early last season where Myo was the weakest link of our team. I even mentioned that in a thread. He would rush shots and press too hard at times. He has improved so much at the end of last season and is very much one of our best players on the court this year. Just an observation.

Our opponent Tuesday, Navy, beat ECU by 5 points at Annapolis.

The last time we opened 4-0 was 1999, which was Hanky's second year (and by far his best.) 2 of the wins were non D1, and we finished 14-14.

I think rmk was able to get myo to buy into his role about that time. Once he did he has become invaluable. Teams that dont know us think they are in good shape when they get scottie in foul trouble only to find a different problem with myo.

As i said last game. When homesley has taken the lead role the offense has clicked much better. It doesnt mean he cant facilitate but it does mean he needs to look for his shot more than he did the first 2.5 games. We just function and rotate so much better when he does. When he was more passive it was like the guys didnt know when to shot. Really love robinson. His development can make us a a different team. He has a different skillset than anybody else.

Very very nice road win. I love watching these athletic selfish teams just fade slowly. They think they can beat us with that athleticism and it just doesnt happen. Its beautiful.

Excellent second half! We were disciplined and Baxter-Bell has some beautiful assists. It's fun watching this team and we will be a tough out for a vast majority of teams. Looking forward to traveling back to the Burg for a game soon and , of course, will be at NJIT, which is in my backyard, for the women/mens doubleheader.

Yeah, we was still putting in his defense after two years. :)

This was a satisfying win. The team knocked down more shots then the previous games, so it was more fun to watch.

That being said, I'm not sure East Carolina is that good of a team though. I expected them to be a bit better. I guess we will have another test to see where we're at with Navy shortly.

I never take road wins for granted. A 20 point win on the road, regardless of opponent, is impressive. I didn't watch a ton of the game so I can't comment much more than that.

I'm sure when he found the note on his desk notifying him he was fired, his response was "But you didn't give me enough time to install all my presses."

Convincing win on the road! Think Homesley was just playing down to the competition the previous two games.

Don't foresee Navy being much of a test. Beat them by 18 on the road last year. Our non-conference schedule is soft. If we want to have a legitimate shot for at-large bids going forward, we need to beef it up (and/or move to a better conference).

I think youre right about Navy. For some reason I thought it was a road game.

I also think you're right about scheduling. There's no real reason not to beef up the out of conference schedule since our conference tournament is the only way we'll get in otherwise.

We really have no margin of error to get an at large. The only benefit the weak out of conference schedule has is to ensure we end up somewhere around a 12 seed if we do get into NCAA tournament by winning our conference tournament. This would be similar to what happened last year and is projected by Lunardi this year, with us winning our tourney and getting a 12 seed.

I don't think we have so much choice to schedule P5's especially those who are not doing well for some years now. Since our run last year, we are a higher threat and no one at that level want to lose to a mid-major especially name Liberty. It's not going to be easy establishing schedules for us from now on(atleast for awhile).
