I think that's a legit description.
Scottie received a sneaky cheap shot; every game has a few. Scottie made it imposable for the ref to ignore it. Refs made the correctly call, just play on.

I think the refs missed it. They probably had someone waiting for them in the locker room to discuss it

Real-time they missed the elbow, but saw it and the flop on replay. At that point there were no broken bones, so I believe play on was the right call.

Yeah, seems like a fair description.

During the heat of the moment I was so ticked and couldn't look at it objectively. My brother texted me saying it was a flop. I texted a rant back, haha

But once I cooled down it was pretty clear it was a bigtime acting job after very little contact. I understand where Scottie's frustration came from and am glad the refs decided to just let that one go.

Heckuva game. Something out the LIPSCUMB players really gets under my skin, and I'm glad Matthews, Marberry and Pornstache Pepper are graduating. To beat those guys on their home floor twice is a big deal and I feel we have gained more respect nationally. The Bisons fans comments on twitter were so idiotic. Whiniest fans and players I have ever seen. I think a new rivalry has been born.

Just looking at your quote doesn’t make sense. If they saw the elbow on the replay (which there was) they have to call it. Those are the rules. Broken bones or not. Being human I can totally understand why they didn’t call it because the flop was so over exaggerated. But I will bet you all the money in your wallet the evaluator was waiting for them in their locker room and wanting an explanation as to why they passed on it.

I love it though. I need a new school to hate.
I have not seen these Twitters. I’m intrigued. What in the world could they be whining about

Mainly that we are a bunch of floppers and didn't deserve to win and obviously the typical anti-Christian type stuff. I haven't seen anybody giving Liberty any credit, which is insane.

I have been pretty impressed with most Liberty fans engaging with them. There have been may 1 or 2 people who take it personally but most people have been pretty gracious.

Well based on the James play they aren’t really wrong. Ha. But by the same token there was no call on that flop so....

I didn’t see him.
I'm not shocked and I am sure there is a reason but it just makes me miss Doc so much.
I think the upper level leadership at LU needs to support the athletic teams more, by just being at the games. They seem to be missing at most games. Back in the 90s and early 2000s when I attended a lot of VT games, in all sports, the college president was at almost every game. There are more sports than just football at LU.

There were people on Twitter rooting against us because we are "the most anti-LGBTQ school in the nation", so they would be looking for anything negative to say about us in the aftermath of a victory. I also recall people wondering after we beat UCLA why the Bruins even dignified our existence by scheduling us. We need to accept the fact that a significant segment of basketball fans are never going to warm up to us.

BYU might take exception to some of those claims. I know Bob Jones would

here's a list of several others who might as well. Funny how they get a free pass on it.

i was watching a video of the celebration and if you listen very carefully, you can hear a female voice say, "youre going to get killed by a 1 seed! I hope they beat you by 400!" (or something to that effect)

"Upper Level Leadership" cupboards are pretty bare at Liberty. The Administrators are managers, something very different. Plenty of management skill, little leadership skill. Not meant as a knock, but why do we think that a square peg MUST fit into a round hole?

I can understand him not being at every game, but it is really odd to me he wasn't at the conference championship game. Oh well. It just confirms to me why it is so hard to get the community and students invested in the program, it starts from the top.

I'll take your word for it that Alexander is a man of faith, but the attitude/demeanor of his players is night and day from ours. Constant whining at every call that goes against them and when a teammate makes a mistake, instead of being supportive, their team leader Matthews calls him out on the court. None of that would fly with Ritchie.

1. Fantastic game by our guys. Answered every run and mentally were so tough!
2. Scottie has exaggerated a play or two all season long. It is a part of his game. Flop or not, no denying his effort and his legitimate skills as evidenced by his 1st team ASUN selection and Tournament MVP. People hated similar players in the past. Pistons, Celtics and Duke all had those types of guys back in the day. They were hated but no denying they were great players. I actually like the extra publicity it is getting us. It will be interesting if it makes it tougher for Scottie to get calls in the tournament though.
3. Support comes with wins. Next season will be a record attendance year. Watch and see.
4. We are really going to miss LC next season. What a leader on both sides of the ball.

It will be interesting to see if we are satisfied just to make the field or come out locked in and ready to make some noise. Either way, this is just another step in the development of what is becoming a solid perennial mid-major power!
