I have been following Liberty basketball for 45 years. I feel pretty safe in saying we have never had a regular season conference matchup quite like this one.

Program led by a fantastic, godly Christian coaching staff. Total respect for them not just for the turnaround job they’ve done, but for how they do it. Could become the premier league rivalry!

They used to be an NAIA Powerhouse. Had back to back All Time Leading Scoreres in college basketball. Over 4000 points each if I remember correctly. Mastered the 4-1 offense. Don Meyer is a Coaching Legend. The reason he left Lipscomb is because he wasn’t thrilled with their move to D1.

Don Meyer is a Coaching Legend.
Truer words have never been spoken. One of the greatest all-time. And yet still far too unknown.

Marberry not in lineup today against Stetson. Probably holding him out for game Tuesday.

Gosh, they are TALL: 4 starters 6'5" to 6'9".
And they have a center who weighs more than Baxter-Bell.

He was the master of the 4 Out 1 In offense. Talk about being on an island as a defender

Anyone found a message board for Lipscomb that's relevant?

I saw that on Twitter earlier this week. Even though I remember that happening I completely forgot it was Lipscomb. I thought it was some random D3 school at the time, I think.

two of their loses were to belmont. belmomt also beat ucla. after last nights shooting im worried. if still in the bigsouth and playing radford, winthrop i don't think we would only have 4 loses at this point. really hope we have a good game tomorrow, will need one.

The defense will keep us in the game but the streaky offense as of late has me nervous. We can't afford to go cold for too long against a team like this.

I really think the crowd will be a factor here. Bold prediction. 6k attendance.

Games are 40 minutes. It's not fair or accurate to say we shot poorly when we hit 12 of our last 14 and finished over 50% from the floor, 39% from 3 and 82% from the line; all above our season averages.

Right, but we have been very streaky and getting behind against a good team like Lipscomb is a bit different then getting behind to a team like Jacksonville.
It is going to be a great game and I do think the crowd could be a factor. This is high level, mid-major basketball. It is going to be fun.

That second half was fire, However, I do agree a cold streak will not serve us well in this game.
It will be fun to see how we respond to this game.

Jacksonville is far better than their record. They consistently give good teams fits. Lipscomb only beat them by 3.

I have given Jacksonville a ton of credit in game threads but it still doesn't change the fact that Lipscomb is the class of the ASun and by far better than any other ASun team we have played. I think we win but I'm super nervous about it due to how slow we have started games recently.

With all due respect, that sounds like a Ballcoach quote.

Can we note that we learned something we were theorizing on. When the going got tough, RMK did not rest starters. He kept them out there and gave them significant minutes. I would expect all five starters to exceed 30 minutes tomorrow night if there isn't any foul trouble.
Cabbil played 6 minutes over average
James played 2 minutes over average
Homesley played 7 minutes over average
Georgie played 4 minutes over average
Cuffie played 4 minutes over average.
Gumbs played 8 minutes under average.
McGee played 8 minutes under average
