Now that the exhibition season is over, let's whip out our crystal balls out and gaze into March. The Kool-Aid Man will lead you off:
(please, no ripping coach in this thread, let's be civil and stick to predicitons-only).
17-13 overall reg season
10-4 in the big south (swept by WU, loss at Coastal, one more slip, and win the rest)
Trip to the title game, which would give The Loo a 19 win season, 20 if we can get the crown.

7-7 in the big south

18-12, 10-4 in the Big South (split WU, split Coastal, sweep Radford, split HPU, split CSU and win the rest)

Oh and jmdickens somehow gets pegged by a basketball at some point during the year

I don't see us much more than .500 in the league. We have always been a horrible road team. In 04 we were 8-0 at home and 4-4 on the road. I see us maybe 3-4 in conference with maybe a loss in the semi's.

You realize you're being just as big of a jerk as you're claiming he is by making statements like that?

I refuse to make predictions though.

Bjwilliam. Too many jokes. haha. Thanks for the post though, I love being verbally threatened by band members. Oh, I think that would be really funny to see me get hit in the head, then maybe I would see the light like everyone else.

I think he was making a valid point. The big south has always been a tough road league. In fact, no one has ever run the table in the league.

So much for keeping it civil. And the thread hasn't been up 10 mins.

Oh Im not threatening you dickens, I just figured Id be the first one to throw something off the wall into the discussion. I frankly hope you don't get hit with anything (Im putting the over/under on Coach D's technical fouls for the season a 9)

I meant BJ. The other post was made right when I was making mine.

Do you realize that most coaches would love to win all of their home games and split on the road? 50% of road games in conference is a good year especially when you are perfect at home. The home team wins close to 80% of college basketball games. It is no secret that is how the big boys pad their records by playing 10-12 home games before conference. Take a look at the schedules of some teams like Syracuse and Georgetown.

Yo, why are you throwing me in there? I haven't really said anything because I don't know enough about this team to form an opinion yet. I said I thought we sucked last week because we did. I didn't go today. I tailgated and celebrated the win instead.

Well sorry...I wasn't trying to sound like a jerk. I figured for once Id be the one with the out in left field statement. JM makes some good points. I just see things a little differently for this year

Like I said, the one game I've been to this year I thought we sucked. If we play good, I will be the first to say that. I was the same way in football (read the W&M postmordem thread). I mentioned positives on here too. I want this team to be good. I really do. I bleed college basketball. Basketball games are more fun than football games. I want to have a good team to cheer on and I'm hoping that's what I'll get this year.

ok.. i must of had you all wrong then. it seemed to me that you were all for the football squad and just hated on the bball squad. that's what i got from your post. but i guess i was wrong(i hope). you went on WU's board to tell them about the negatives about us.

i made my predictions in the other theard. i want to keep them to myself though because everytime i make predictions im always wrong. im just going to say that i think we will do good this year. i like what brew brings to the team. i have kept up with LU sports and i dont think we have had someone as good as him come through here. i think he will go to the NBA, and help our team be really good

I've had referees turn around and tell me to shutup during basketball games. I've made girls cry during basketball games. I'm a basketball guy.

I wish Brew well and hope he goes to the NBA. Manger you have no idea how hard that really is though. There just aren't that many spots available in a given year and There are so, so, so many good players in the world. That's right I said the world because they go all over the world to get a good player. Guards have a really tough time making it. If you are a 7 footer that can play, you have a great chance. If you are 6-5 and score 20 points per game in the Big Ten, you might not make it still. Just the way the NBA works. I know plenty of guys that have made it (from Philly and other places) and it is almost as much fortune and luck involved as talent and opportunity. You have to have so many things go your way. He is a great player but I would not say with out a doubt that he is going to the league.

Nothing ticks me off more than when people question my passion as a fan. I haven't dropped probably $150 (and even more next week) in football for nothing. I'll be there. I'll have pranks. Even if we suck.

They were horrible last year. Fans show up anyways.
