Just announced we have offered JC Carrington, a 6'1" PG from Charlotte, who is 2018 commit Blake Preston's teammate at Charlotte Christian. Looks like our staff have developed quite a relationship with the people down there. JC averaged 9 points and 7 assists a game as a Soph.

Since the thread is now started, ASOR reported several months ago that we offered 6'3" SG Caleb Mills from Ashville, NC' Verbal Commits does not show that offer as yet. Winthrop and Lipscomb have also offered him.

Hoping being in-state will help us, and the Vines Center is nicer than the Henderson Center in Huntington.

This year we will have 5 scholarship players in that size range who are either SG or SF. One is a Senior. I would be surprised if all 4 of the others are still around when the 2019 class arrives, and Homesley would be a Senior. When you consider the fact that most if not all of these guys can play either position, I really don'think that is too many.

In another roster note, walk-on Brody Hicks, who was on the scout team last year, has been added. It will be interesting to see how the pecking order for minutes shakes out between Brody and Jay Barber. They are similar players, and if anything I think Hicks may be more athletic.

And Hicks outweighs Barber by 25 pounds, which may make a difference at the next level.

I guess I can start trying to keep track of MBB too. What are the recruiting time tables for MBB? Signing day, primary recruiting season and how does it different from football? How is it similar? Broadening my horizons.

Early signing period is November 8-15. We expect McGhee and Preston to sign that week, probably on the 8th. Spring signing period is April 11 to May 16. Unless we have some more attrition, we won't have a scholarship available to sign anyone then. The schedule for open and closed recruiting periods is way too complicated for me to try to keep up with.

We actually are looking at 3 scholarships open for 2019. Hopefully one will go to the PG, JC Carrington. As it stands now the other 2 would be used to land a couple of those 2/3 guys who have some length and athleticism to play the Pack Line, but can also hit the 3.

Did you see the tweet from Layla Davis? Did he get a football and basketball offer from LU?

That should say Lala; autocorrect got me again lol. Although what I said is based on a tweet that is posted on his page.
I saw it too. It was a 50/50 jersey. MBB and Football.

Joe Pierre's trip to Texas has resulted in us offering 2 PGs for the class of 2019:

6'2" Pierce Hellums from Tomball, TX

6'1" Isaac McBride from Little Rock, AK

I'm thinking with Marten Maide committed, we have likely withdrawn the offers to most if not all of the other SGs we were looking at for that year. We will definately need a PG with Cabbel gone and Georgie a Senior.
