smitty has improved his game so much since last year. he will be our defensive stopper once again this year. this kid is tough and isn't scared to guard anyone. he put on alot of muscle over the off season. smitty should get alot of open looks this year with LB and dwight getting so much attention. he is also a high-flyer! prob. the best dunker on the team with his crazy hops. with his big body he is able to get to the basket and finish strong. there is a crazy upside to smitty and im excited to see him on the court this year.

I didn't get to see him much last year, but while LB's 37 points got the headlines in LU's win over Winthrop last year, Smitty played amazing defense and had a great game as well. He impressed me w/ that performance.

he was our defensive stopper as a freshmen, and has only improved. he's a fan pleaser with his ability to jump. i love his shooting form, it's so different and smooth. look for him to have a big year this year

i think smitty will average 11pts and reb. and makes a good run for defensive player of the year after guarding martin, leasure and williams

He's the only Houstonian on the roster right now so he brings that to the table.
I love his defensive intensity and when he heats up, he can score with just about anybody. He needs to hit those open looks when they are there (and they will be frequently).

Manger you have about 12 guys having a big year this season

Your enthusiasm is appreciated I am sure but your credibility is a little shakey at best because no one has seen enough in GAME SITUATIONS to feel as good about this team as you do. I have seen marked improvement in a lot of areas the few times I have gotten to spend time and evaluate this team. I am a little more realistic I guess but I don't see this team blowing everyone away with all of these weapons. It takes a whole lot to get a team to bounce back from the kind of year we had last year. I hope and pray even that the moves made in the off season will pay off and manifest itself on the court with a quality effort night in and night out. I tell ya those games were tough for Ray Jones and me to call last year at times. The 2004 championship year was a lot of fun. I hope we get a return of those types of games. Again, love the enthusiasm but don't expect everyone to meet you there until they see some proof of improvement in GAME SITUATIONS. We will have a good evaluation of some more guys after Thursday and Saturday. You may want to save the "What will they bring" Treads on the lesser known players until after Saturday to get more responses. I gotta say I liked what I saw from a lot of different guys yesterday but again, they are playing against each other.

yes, that was one thing i thought he needed to improve. i think he will hit those open shots this year. he got the freshmen jitters out and now it's time to hoop. you know mama will be all over him if he doesn't perform. lol

that's why i skipped some guys to get to smitty. it was going to be a quite thread if i went with some of the guys, because no one knows them.

Dang, I think i might have to agree with Scar a little bit here... but youre right in all those areas manager. He has gotten stronger, and bigger, he has improved his shot and can still jump out of the gym, but we will have to see once the season starts. You know im not one to doubt Smitty, but we will have to see once the season starts. With the LB and D. Brew Posts, we've seen them do great things in big games, and we've seen smitty do them too, but "The New Anthony Smith" we will have to see at tip-off. Its all about playing against other people

but this is about predictions and that's what im giving, my prediction on what i think the players will do. what i wanted you guys to do when i started this WWHB thing was to give a prediction, tell what you like about him, or what he needs to improve on from last year... something like that. explain WE fan.

haha... that would be crazy if that does happen, because i already have LB and Brew on there. in my opinion they are the best trio in the league. if it turns out the way i see it then it's going to be a 3 headed monster with smitty being a sleeper
didn't want the man to feel left out
