I was hoping we could hang on to Omar til he got a HC offer. He will be Basketball Ops at Vandy, so ironically he and Matt will be switching roles. Matt is very deserving. It will be interesting to see if his replacement has the same title or if they go back to the traditional Basketball Ops.

Congrats to Coach Mance on the new job out in Music City, and congrats to a young man who certainly has paid his dues around here getting a his first chance to be a full fledged assistant coach.

Excited for both guys. Well deserved on both accounts.

Happy for both guys as well. Disappointed to see Mance go because I feel he was a great asset and the players related well with him but joining an institution like Vanderbilt to coach with another believer in Bryce Drew would be pretty tough to pass up.

An update/correction in Omar's position at Vandy. He will be director of recruiting and player personell. This frankly makes a lot more sense in light of his background and skills than basketball ops, which is what was previously announced.

Add the name of Chelsea Mangino to those deserving congratulations. She has been named Director of Basketball Operations. She joins Kettie Fickter, our Football Recruiting Coordinator, in performing a job almost never held by a woman. I wonder how many of our "enlightened" competitors have made hires like those? Chelsea was a student manager for 4 years at UVA, and Ritchie brought her to Liberty as a graduate assistant last year.
