The losing streak WILL be broken @St. Francis. We played at a much higher level with Dawson in the game on thursday and I look for us to continue that trend throughout the rest of the season barring any injuries. We have got to do two things better and if we do the sky is the limit for the Big South. 1.) LESS TURNOVERS 2.) SHOOT BETTER FROM FREE-THROW LINE AND GET TO THE LINE MORE!!!!! Liberty wins this one 76 to 64

Curious what you guys think about this starting line-up:
1: Dawson
2: Cabbil
3: Homesly
4: Talbert
5: Maxwell
It gives us more length, athleticism, and offensive threats

Their gym only seats 1,200, but they are streaming the game, and LU is leading!

Smaller gym even than Charleston Southern. Smallest in all of D-I.

LU leading at the half, 28-25. Balanced scoring with Dawson, Reid, and Hiepler with 5 points each.

Feels like we should have a much larger lead at half. Were up 12 at one point. Have to find a way to get the ball in the post to Maxwell. This is definitely a game we need to win. Let's go Flames!

Curious about the extent of AC Reid's injury.

Winnable game.... We let em off the hook. Dawson played good 15pts 10 reb but has gotta cut down on the fouls. We cant win with our #1 guy watching the game from the sidelines.

This is a tough one to swallow as SF did not look like a very good team. Dawson played well but that was about it. AC hurt his knee in the first half and didn't return and then Dawson fouled out late. Couldn't get Maxwell the ball consistently. Cabbil went 3-13, 0-5 from 3.
Crucial point in the game when Dawson fouled out down one possession. We came in with Homesley not Maxwell. SF missed the FT and got the offensive board. Then immediately posted up Homesley and scored at rim. Ball game. Didn't help that late in the game Fields almost air balled a FT and Homesley went 0-2 right after. More growing pains of a young team.
If Reid injury is long term, we are going to need more of Talbert who was a non-factor this game. Only played 5 minutes or so. VCU and Notre Dame up next are going to be brutal. Hopefully we can find some sort of momentum to take into conference play.

OK we might not win another game this year. Man I mean we knew it was going to be a long year but you can't go 0 for d1 play. I mean seriously. No shot in the next 2

SF has an experienced team with enough height to beat us, and they did. It really hurt when Reid went out with an ankle injury. We already have a short, inexperienced bench and it showed at the end of the game. I like the effort. We will be at a disadvantage for any team we play this year and knew this going in. Having said that, I believe we still can pull off some BSC wins if we stay healthy. We are doing okay on D for the most part but we lack any significant offensive firepower to win games like this one.

Yeah, I think that a high-low post might work. We need other options to get the ball to Maxwell. He is our best chance at scoring if he can get a shot off

When you're rebuilding a team, you absolutely can...
We barely have a bench and we are really, really young. We aren't going to be favored in one game this season...so, if we happen to win one, it's an upset. Be patient.

How does coach expect Homesley to defend the 5? He is a guard who is at his best when slashing to the basket laying it up left-handed. I don't get it. When we go with our little line-up, the opposing coach doesn't have to be a genius to decide to post-up the mismatch. I thought that McKay was all about trapping the post. I didn't see it much today.....except when Maxwell got the ball.

Except unlike Longwood, this Liberty team is relatively unexperienced. I'm actually pretty shocked as to how poor this Longwood team is.

speaks to how bad Layer was as head coach...McKay will turn this thing around..he only has 3 legit D1 players on this roster. No shock here on results
