For what it´s worth, this game matches up 2 of the 3 teams who have so far offered a scholarship to Brendan Newton. It also reunites those 2 good buddies Ritchie McKay and Jason Allison on the sidelines.

App St lost to Tulane by 28 Sunday. Tulane is 2-2 with a loss to Southern, which would normally be a REALLY bad result, but Southern has also beaten Miss St, so it looks like they are much better than usual.

Liberty should beat App State by a considerable margin. This team should also beat W. Michigan and Tulane. Coach McKay certainly has these guys playing way better than people envisioned. Once Dawson gets in the mix in a couple weeks this team hopefully gonna open some eyes.

Time to slow our roll a bit on getting too upbeat about this team. I believe those games are all winnable, but to say we SHOULD win them all is jumping the gun IMHO. The one thing that has really changed from the preseason predictions of a young undersized team that is likely to struggle mightily is the emergence of Maxwell as a legit force inside, but there are still a lot of questions to be answered. All we´ve done so far is beat 3 cupcakes and hold our own at home against a good W&M squad. We´ll know more in a week or so. I´m cautiously optomistic.

After watching the Covenant game I was thinking there is no way they win more than 5-6 games this year. But the freshmen got their feet wet, there is a little more chemistry/comfidence, and they played tough against W&M at home. Let's see how they do on the road against D1 teams.

We have to stay healthy and continue to grow. We will know a lot more afrer the next week. I'll go ahead and admit I was wrong. I thought maxwell was a dud. I was right about layer being a dud haha. I would be ecstatic if we found a way to win 2 of these games.

Excited for this weekend to play some other D1 programs to see where we stand. Expect the inconsistency of a young team, especially that relies so much on the 3 point shot, but we should be competitive with these teams. Good matchups for us this season leading into the start of conference play. I expect to see us in more competitive holiday tournaments down the road. McKay likes to schedule tough opponents. No offense to Nashville, which is a great place to visit, but hopefully our days at the Music City event are over.

How about Radford with wins over Georgetown and now Penn State both on the road?! That is looking like a tough start on December 3rd. Good to see the Big South making some noise nationally. I like how CBS Jon Rothstein puts it. "It's all fun and games until someone loses a buy game."

I don't think we need to be shaking in our boots over what other teams do at this juncture. While it is good to see their success, since a rising tide raises all ships, we still have to play the games on The court as obvious as that sounds.

Nice movie...but not my point...oy. I'm just saying we can't assume a loss based on how they do against someone else...no matter how good that opponent is.

Clichés? No, ole BJ never speaks in clichés--unless they are nautical ones.

I think everyone agrees with that. There should be no assumed wins/losses in today's college basketball. Point was more to acknowledge the quality wins for the Big South and to Radford's strong start. Great for the conference! High Point is battling Georgia right now. Hopefully they can pull it out as well.
