Well if UNC is the preseason #1 then this is going to be a pretty crappy year for college basketball

I'm pretty sure we were in the 300s when RD took over for Hanky.

So essentially we're last in the big south? I understand we're young, and I don't really keep up with every prospect thread, but is our recruiting class that bad?

Most rosters probably don't have 6 or more new players with only one or two starters returning.

Recruiting class has only a very small influence on these projections. Newbies do not have generally have a proven track record.

This ranking is completely built off last season. Considering we finished with an RPI of #347 last year, to be ranked 40 spots higher shows we're getting a decent boost because of McKay.

Agreed. An outsider looking just at our roster could easily say we lost more than we gained. I disagree, because I believe we have substantially upgraded the guard position (and especially PG) with both recruits and transfers. The move up in rankings is all about the coaching change.
