There is always a chance, but I'm not going to bet on it. The only question after this game is will DL be sacked or is he going to be allowed to finish his contract?

After reading Chris Lang's write up on each team, I have come to the conclusion that we are worse than our record. We are behind Longwood, Campbell and Presyb. Blue Hose. That's bad. And our conference record is even worse than bad.

Chris: Good breakdown of each team.

8.5 point underdog on a neutral court. they may have a chance, i would have figured it to be higher. but I'm sure UNCA will not be totally focused after just beating them on Saturday.

I predict UNCA over LU in a tight one - 75-70

I'd still bet UNCA with that line. A good prop bet would be if DL calls a TO with under a minute left

I'm going to go out on a limb. I think the coaches and players both feel pressure. Also, as much as I dislike Layer, the players at least seem to like him. UNC Asheville hasn't just beaten us twice, they have crushed us twice. They will only be so motivated tonight.

I know it was only high school, but when I played soccer for our varsity team, I'll never forget my senior year. We were blown out by the best team in the state 6-0 early in the season. The next time we played, it was a completely different story. Leading up to that game, all of us pushed each other harder than any other point during the season. Coaches had trouble getting us to leave practices. During that game, we played absolutely incredible and had them tied 2-2 with just a few minutes left. We ended up losing 4-2 (they scored their 4th goal in the final minute after we pulled our goalie). That team went undefeated and won the state championship 7-2(I think).

When you combine the current camaraderie on our team, the pressure on DL, and the likely-hood that UNC-Asheville will lack motivation coming into this game, it's possible we'll keep it close. We have absolutely nothing to lose tonight, they certainly don't want to be the team to get knocked out by us. I still wouldn't take us to win but I think we only lose by 5 or 6. It certainly wouldn't surprise me if we did win however.

I just looked at the bracket. I'm surprised the tourney doesn't re-seed after this first-round. Teams know exactly who to look forward to, so UNCA may already be preparing for Coastal Carolina. Strangely, though, if LU wins tonight then next up is 3-seed Coastal, not 1-seed Chuck South.

I am not placing a bet on Liberty in this game, but I really think that this is one we can win. Beating a team 3 times in the same season is tough, especially when your best player is far from consistent. On a neutral floor, if Rowsey has a bad game, I can see the Flames doing just enough to get it done. It will take LU's best game and UNCA playing their C- game, but it can happen. UNCA is the better team, but have proven that they can have bad nights. If both teams bring their "A Game" UNCA runs LU out of the gym, so dont think Im picking Liberty, but I do see this as a game that can be won without having unrealistic expectations.

Ultimately, its up to UNCA. They can take what they want, when they want in this game.

Well, this dog will compassionately be put out of its misery later tonight. Hope we name a new coach by tomorrow afternoon, but not holding my breath. :)
