What is the capacity of the Vines (9000?)? When the team is competitive, what is the attendence that shows for their games?Just curious.

capacity is 9000. I think it could be made for 10,000

when the Men's basketball team won the Big South Championship in 2004, the attendance was a little over 8500

it has to be less than 9,000 now since they took the seats out of tunnel end, but it is listed at 9,000.

Attendance figures, for all sports, are always open to a "bit" on interpretation. I have been at Men's and Women's games where I actually could count the attendance if a few seconds and was "shocked" to find I was off by several hundred, or even a thousand! As an added feature, notice how it always ends in an odd number (or whole outside of 2)

The highest attendance I have ever seen at the Vines was agains't Virginia Tech in Jeff Meyer's last year. It was reported at little over 9,000 but the fire chief had to close off the entrance so no one else got in. I guess the 9,000 includes the standing room only group.

Last year I was told around 7,800

So did anyone ever get any word on if a new arena is on the drawing board as a result of the article that stated that Williams had given money to help construct the football operations center and new arena?

Of course it is on the drawing board, along with the parking garage, golf complex. Liberty Village, the "Walking Campus" layout and the Jerry Falwell memorial

The one thing that moves projects is the great almighty (dollar (or millions of them)). If someone ponied up a few million big ones and said, "Build it," then it would happen. I would think you all would have been around long enough to figure that one out.

Yeah, I only mention it because in a recent article on the football operations center, a phrase was dropped that said that Williams had given money to complete the FOC and for a new arena. I'll try to find the exact article and quote.

I'm gonna start doing it myself- ya know- make a statement: "SOLIDARITY"
I just wanted to know what it meant
And you're ok by me, my brother. In spite of our racist arguments last weekend
(and I hope you read that tract that the well-meaning missionary-type gave ya!)

Not that I am not proud to be an American, but can we get the flag off the jersey's... we have been at war since 1990 give or take... we have the flag hanging in all gyms across the country. My 3 cents.

hey, finally! pics of the new jerseys. Not to be confused with the state. They look pretty good. Not so sure about the blue patch on top. That's iffy.

And somebody tell me why the guys have to look like they're getting ready to play football for The U. I pray to God that Coach Dunton hasn't brought the thug mentality in just for the sake of the W. He's a better person and representative of LU than to do that.

don't even do that haize, these guys are great people. if you don't know them don't say anything. they are not thugs, they are good guys. no one ever comes to coach D with complaints about how the guys are doing wrong.
