A John Cooper sighting

I'd love to beat him again like we did 3 years ago when he was at TN State. For those who don't know, Cooper was reportedly offered our HC job after RD was let go and turned it down because he didn't like our offer, which led to our hiring McKay.

What will probably be more of a factor in the game is the Eric Washington sighting. (transfer from Presby)

They lost to DII Edinboro. If it was wrestling, I would understand, but not in basketball. We should be able to beat these guys.

I know it's extremely early for RPI, but Liberty is 165 and Miami is 336. Kenpom has Liberty at 273 and Miami at 259.

Very winnable game. Was impressed with the Delaware game and would love another strong showing here. So far i've been pleasantly surprised by basketball season:)

Had the advantage of watching the scrimmage and thought this team had a lot of potential. Longer and more athletic team in years. They stuck to their offensive and defensive schemes that they're trying to refine in the preseason rather than changing anything up just for VT. They could have used their height a lot more against VT with Gielo and Smith low and Johnson at the high post setting screens for the guards while drawing their one big man away from the basket.

ZERO mention of today's game in the local paper, The News & Daily Advance.

We've stopped doing the game preview boxes for some reason. Not my choice. No space for a game advance, and frankly for me, no time to write one. We'll be doing game advances for pretty much every game after Cancun, save for the garbage non-DI games.

Flames fall to Miami, OH, 62-53. Smith leads LU with 13 points, and Evan Maxwell sees his first playing time with 4 minutes of action.

Actually, Maxwell has played in all 4 games this year.

Why was Kemrite's playing time limited, after his performance against Va Tech? His shooting would have been helpful.

Sorry, olldflame--I was confusing Evan with Ezra. So Ezra still hasn't played, right?

Correct. He's good. Probably a better offensive player than any of our bigs except Gielo.

Something is puzzling in that Kemrite played 9 minutes against VT, went 4-4 from field. Against Miami he plays 5 minutes with zero shots.
