Lang's article was so good that I read it twice--once electronically and a second time when it was delivered to my house. Hoping Coach Layer get's a WIN tonight so we can be ahead of the other LU in the BSC standings.

So the coaches just now realized Retic can help, it's the last week of the season.... He should have been playing since his 2nd half performance vs Furman. But maybe that's Layer secret wait til the end every year.
Interesting how the offense is flowing now. Get that 'offense' 'offense' 'offense'
Have a good day!

Basketball is an "Offensive Game". That's why there's more scoring than any other sport.
Score 80 every game, hold opponent to 79, you win every time.

Longwood is a bad Big South basketball team 3-14 in last 17 games. This one should be a W at home.

I have seen several games in Vines Center this season that should have been a "W" , but were not.

21-19 11:05 left in first. Longwood. Pretty fun game to watch. We have SUCH better flow and chemistry without Sanders dominating the ball. Someone should have brought that up earlier in the year. Oh wait...

90-76 final. Most points in a D1 win since the Big South championship game last year

This is a different team now that Retic has been handed the offense, Burrus and Sanders stepping up there game from absences due to their in juries/surgeries of last year/off-season, Geilo more confident and Smith playing within his skill level and not trying to do too much now that he has gotten minutes. Chemistry is much improved.
Longwood fans have the best fan base. At their gym/bandbox they are loud and overwhelmingly enthusiastic and @ 75 showed up tonight to support them and they were enthusiastic all through the game - and they are the worst team in the league. If our student body had half their enthusiasm . . . . .

Couldn't watch the game tonight but it is nice to see us playing better. Perfect time to play the worst teams in the league. It should help instill some confidence into our team if they keep it up. Retic may be the calming presence this team needed on the offensive side of the ball. This team never had much trouble of the defensive side of the ball.
Like I said though, I didn't see any of this game so all of my comments are based off a stat sheet, haha

Longwood has only been D1 for 7 years, if they keep sucking the way they do that enthusiasm wont last

I don't mean to pee in anyone's Wheaties so let's not get too excited. Several people have a tendency to view every win as a sign we are NCAA bound. The great thing about this win is it proves we are not the worst team in the conference. At this point, that's a good accomplishment. Our last 3 wins are against Presbyterian, an uninspired and short handed Campbell and an undersized Longwood. This team is still going to lose 20 games. I am happy to see they have taken the ball out of Sanders hands and seen others flourish. Even Sanders had a good game last night, which should show it is possible. We started to show good chemistry last night. Good flow on offense, got out in transition and had a bounce in our step. Winning covers a host of ills, but what happens when this team is tested by a team not battling for the basement? Doe a leopard really change its spots? What I'm most happy for is it looked like the guys were having fun out there. I'd hate to have a Senior season end as bad as they were showing the last couple of weeks
On to Radford!

I'm actually not surprised we won this game. Frustration over the loss to Longwood at their place plus the fact that we have obviously underperformed this year was a perfect storm for a blow out. Hoping they can stay hot through the tourney but I'll remain skeptical until they can prove to win consistently.

Longwood just lost at home to High Point by 26 and Radford by 11. Liberty would look better if they could play Longwood in L'burg a few more times.
