libertyfan4life wrote:I think that only 200 have been said to be in attendance for this game at first estimate of tip off with tonights Ken Ham Creation debate vs. Bill Nye taking place, and with the fact that well, we're 9 - 14.This debate was a bad idea... Bill Nye is a very smart guy and debates like this never turn out well.

Liberty needs to find a way to get students to support the team whether they are good or not, when we look like LC could beat us... Then the paid attendance will increase. People want to be entertained and watching a game with fans makes games more exciting. Without fans - the team will not get better. Why? Because good players want to play for a school that loves basketball and when a recruit looks at Liberty they don't see the support. If they came to visit and there was 8,000 loud fans, they want to be a part of that and wonder - what if they were good? I want to be here when that happens.Listed at 1615 attendance good thing most of these were paid for!

He even slept with his back to the TV in the 2nd half and that didn't work. So, your little man got tired of hearing SCAR drone on and on and said the heck with it and crashed in the second half? Sounds like a pretty smart kid to me.

Here's to another 6 win season in Big South play. Someone help me with the math here... We are spending about $200,000 a year for every win in conference play?I don't know why I didn't blame you from the beginning. I'm slipping.

If you blame Layer, than you're to blame for the loss too. What the crap? We ARE a football school. Game day fan experience is not good. Neither have to do with Layer or the product on the floor. THAT is a coaches responsibility
Purple Haize wrote:Yes, I understand that we are a football school. My point is that being a football school and attendance doesn't translate to a bad basketball team. Go ask Duke football how much help they had establishing a good football program. 6 years ago, you couldn't get 10k fans to a game and Coach K had his will with the athletic budget. Yet somehow, David Cutcliffe converted Duke football into a winning program. He didn't need fans. Tons of basketball coaches have converted losing, pathetic basketball programs, without fan support, into winning programs. Yes, we are a football school, and even if basketball starts to succeed, we'll remain a football school. Honestly, that's where 95% of the money is in college athletics. But lots of basketball coaches are finding ways to succeed at football schools. That excuse is ludicrous.VAGolf wrote:It's definitely NOT Layer's fault.
