The Flames will tip off its 2013-14 basketball season Friday night at home against crosstown rival Randolph College. This will count as an exhibition game for Randolph. Will the Flames begin their 2013 Big South Title defense with a win, or will they be shocked by their crosstown opponent? Find out in the Randolph College Primer.

1. Team Introduction. The WildCats are coming off one of their best seasons in school history. Under head coach Clay Nunley, Randolph made it to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history. The WildCats return three starters from the 2012-13 squad that set a program-record for wins in a season with 21. Randolph finished with a 21-7 overall record and went 11-5 in the ODAC before advancing to the NCAA Division III Tournament where they lost to Emory in the 1st round. Randolph will have to replace their top 2 scorers from last season. Head coach Clay Nunley is entering his seventh season as head coach and has an overall record of 78-80. He was named the 2012-13 ODAC and VaSID coach of the year. Nunley’s teams are extremely disciplined and play similar to Brad Stevens’ Butler teams.

It is a Full TV production as well but I'm not sure if it will be on the Liberty Channel or not. I love the LU Today App as an option. But the Big South will be streaming it live as well as archiving it for future viewing if you miss it. I just hope I can keep up with Pierce

That brings up a good point, Scar. Does the video streaming work for anybody else on the app? I haven't been able to use it on my Android device.

Haha Sly I'm afraid I traded in my Droid for an Apple iPhone a couple of weeks ago and it works great. Smoothie showed me the app a few weeks ago at homecoming when we were at the Volleyball game.

My guess on the starting lineup for Liberty tomorrow is:

Marshall
Sanders
Gielo
Burrus
Coronado

just a guess though.

As long as JC is ready to go, that would be a logical lineup.

Sanders' ankle is fine. He hurt his back doing hang cleans in the gym the other day. Not sure of his status for tomorrow but I doubt they want him to aggravate it with the W&M game upcoming on Tuesday.

Looks like Joel is going to start at the 5 too.

Since when did Randolph become our cross-town rival? That is not a good PR move on Flames Nation's part - come on Mason!!

This game is going to be a beat down.

You're being unduly kind. I've seen maybe 3 of the last 5 minutes.

I had to turn it off. Big south fails again. From what I did see it looked like a decent crowd.

This isn't a good look for Liberty. Randolph lost by far their two best players and didn't exactly have a whole lot coming back in terms of talent.
