Bullcrap
Yeah you can't put those kinds of handcuffs on kids and not hold coaches/Athletic Directors to their contracts. Transferring is a way of life in the NCAAs. Georgia State Head Coach Ron Hunter and ODU HC Jeff Jones are just 2 coaches recently who told me that you have to be willing to take transfers and go after them after they get their releases. GSU has Ryan Harrow from UK and Kevin Ware from Louisville, both of whom own National Championship rings. Ware of course is the kid that had the horrific leg injury for the Cardinals a couple of years ago. Jeff Jones got Trey Freeman from Campbell and he has helped propel ODU to the top 25 in the nation for the 1st time in school history!
Coach Hunter told me back in December that at the end of the semester THIS SEASON there were no fewer than 50 division 1 kids looking to transfer. They don't all work out for the kid or for the school but it has to be allowed to happen. The NCAA has granted a ton of waivers in recent years to let kids play right away when they transfer too. Then you have guys like Evan Gordon that understand the NCAA rules so well that they get to extend their careers at 3 different schools.
