Was he here on a campus visit over the weekend? There was a kid looking alot like him (with parents and an official from LU Athletics, maybe coach Walden?) near me at the Morgan State football game. They appeared to have a great time.

I, too, saw a recruit--with both parents--and Coach Walden at Friday's Convo when Bobby Bowden was speaking. Mom was taking pics with her phone and really getting into the band's rendition of "Amazing Grace." I kept thinking, what a PERFECT Convo for a recruit and his parents to attend!

Yeah I met AC and his parents this weekend. Great family and I know AC was having a really good trip. I am not surprised at all that he gave his commitment to the Flames! He comes from good basketball pedigree too as both his parents played college basketball. His mom won even won a Division II National Championship at Hampton before transferring to Norfolk State to finish out her career.

Not sure about the athleticism needed to play defense and score in the paint consistently, but he can absolutely fill it up from deep and has a decent cross over - this has the potential to be a great pickup that there should be some excitement about. Love how he gets his legs into his shot to give him range.

Wow, a Robert Reid reset. Didn't see that coming.

Smithson Valley is a large country school that is on Canyon Lake just north of San Antonio near the PGA Village.

I think we have one in Retic, and even though he´s a JUCO transfer, he has 3 years of eligibility. You need more than one though, and as it stands now our backup PG in 14 would probably be Ethan Layer. That may not be as bad as it sounds because I have heard Ethan has really stepped up his game during his redshirt year and can be more than just a spotup shooter. We shall see.

I look for one of the remaining scholarships to go to a guard; either Shawn Lipscomb, who is a combo guard or one of the PGs we are recruiting. Don´t be surprised if that last schollie goes to a JUCO post player. We are very deep and experienced there next year, but going into 14 all we will have is Sommy and the true Freshman Maxwell, who looks like he may be a ¨project¨. I guess Smith could play the 5 in a pinch, but I don´t think that´s the best use of his talent.

I actually agree with everything you said. I dont think adding a juco is the worst idea but landing a young pg to develop would be ideal as well. Id like to see retic play first though before im sold that hes a 3 year starter. I think this is the best looking group weve had since jesse and seths group though we lost a lot of them

I can almost gaurantee you that Marshall and Sanders will start this year, so if Retic starts it will be as part of a 3 guard lineup with those 2 where he would run the point on offense and defend the opponents small forward. I am hoping that Gielo will win the starting job at the 3, giving us a big starting lineup and Retic will come off the bench this year. From 2014 on, we have pretty much put our eggs in Joe Retic´s basket as far as starting PG is concerned. Hopefully they will not end up scrambled.
