the new rosters are up. no bios yet, but everyone is there.

when will we see photos of the new players in their liberty uni's.?

they are taking their head shots tomorrow,and the team pics next friday. so you should see them about this time next month, maybe a little earlier.(dont quote me on that)

Just an FYI -- Liberty sports information hired a new person that will exclusively handle men's basketball. Before, with Todd Wetmore doing football and men's hoops, the overlap made it very difficult for him to get a lot done with hoops in October and November. The new hire should help with that.

No it is not me (if I am Big Tim S). Not sure if SID is the way I want to take my career at this stage Medic. I am thinking the Project Management/Broadcasting is still the way to go. No offense to our good friends in the Athletic Dept.

i think you will see big things from those guys. you guys should come and check them out in open gym. you'll see a brand new russel. he's gotten better..

p.s. the ties were coach jones' idea. he's come up with alot of good ideas with equipment too. he really has a looking good this year. the jerseys are so NICE!!

The basketball team gets new jerseys every year, and that is suppossed to make up for the lack of success??? Come on, let's gets some wins, then give them new stuff.

We should worry about how we play rather than how we look. We could wear practice jerseys and I wouldn't care if they won more than what, three conference games.

i hope we win this year, so you would just shut up. i think that's the problem with LU, most of the students just talk bad about football and bball

but no one said that new jerseys are going to make us win. we were talking about pictures and material things so i just threw that in there. no one said anything when scar said something about the jerseys

Basketball gets new crap every year and was horrible. When has baseball gotten a bunch of new stuff? Or softball? Teams that are actually decent.

there are less players on the bball team than the other sports, so it might be cheaper. that's just a guess though

So we're doing what's cheapest now? That explains a lot about the state of the program...

Not to be rude, but I'll believe that when I see it, and only then.

LUBM, I'm behind ya brother. There will always be haters until the team wins. These are what you call fair weather fans. If they were true fans, they would support the team 100% regardless of wins and losses. Sure, it's much better to support a winning team rather than a losing one, but if you are a TRUE fan you will be there no matter if we are winning the championship are in last place.

I got to every game of the men's home schedule during my 4 year tenure there, an hour and a half before tip-off. This was true during the 2-1-2 years when we finished that three years in a row, and last year when we were fighting just to win a game or two.

TRUE fans don't care if we spend money on a team if they were losing or winning, as long as the admin shows these sports their support. As far as baseball, softball, etc. I'm not sure why they haven't gotten new uni's. I don't see anything wrong with the ones they have. If they wanted some bad enough, and pushed for them hard enough, they would get them; I'm sure.

The administration supports every athletic team this University has whether it's how everyone wants them to or not.

I can vouch for Russell's improvement. I've seen him play some and even played against him recently at some open gyms and we have a class together that involves us being on the court.

He has been abusing Jones in the post everytime I've seen them match up against each other. He's playing hard and going strong to the rim. He's going to be a big part of the offense this year, IMO.

That's all and good. I want to see it in a game. All I heard last year was how good Russ was and how much potential he had, and he ended up playing so poorly that he couldn't get off the bench on a 7-23 team.

It's pretty bad in the 'burg when the 'sports reporter' is bashing the team... LUBM every school at this small D-1 level bashes their team not just at Liberty, other athletes are always going to be jealous of Football and basketball just grow up and deal with it... I was talking to one coach in the Big South and he said he would love to have Big Russ on his roster. He said he thinks LU just doesn't use Russ correctly in their offense.

Anybody got a injury report on the team?

I would hope that Russell isn't abusing anyone in the post b/c it not be good for LU's hopes this year. I thought he was barely a D2 type player when I've seen him.
