Per FlamesNation 6´3 PG from Owens CC in Toledo, OH has verballed following a visit this past weekend. He went to HS in Fishers, IN.

Among his accomplishments last year was a triple doublé, a sportscenter top 10 for a pass off the backboard for a dunk and selection to the JC tournament 2nd team. He has 3 years of eligibility remaining.

He graduated from HS in 2012 and only played one year of JUCO ball, which means he either is on some sort of fast track to get his associate degree or he will have to sit a year.

It would be strange if the Indiana native on our staff was not involved in this player´s recruitment. What´s the point?

Not to nitpick, but he hasn't signed yet. He verbally committed.

Or, in the case of Emmanuel Andrews etc. Retic could sign with the Flames and still not make it to the mountain and or play. Knock on wood.

Now that's official nitpicking..

Retic and Kemrite address an issue that has been harped on quite a bit, which is lack of size in the back court. What I´m afraid is going to happen though is that they will play mostly as a third guard, defending the 3. Personally I think the key to next years team really stepping it up to another level is for Gielo and Smith to progress to the point here we can go more with 3 bigs.

Offensively it would give us an advantage, especially in BSC but our bigs play terrible D and would be a liability there. Nonetheless, I'd like to see 3 bigs on the floor most if not all the time. Toward the end of the year we were playing triangle and 2 and 1-2-2 with a big at the top of the D which seemed to be pretty effective. Coach rather play the man to man where Smith and Gielo struggle.
