I know nothing about A&T. what are our chances of beating them.

Two teams from Virginia have played a play-in game, and ended up in Final 4. George Mason and VCU.

GMU wasn't in a play in game. Last year was the first year of the 11 and 12 seed play in games.

You might want to check your history of the ' Play In' game. For starters it was originally only for the 64/65 teams to play to see who gets to play the overall #1 seed 2 days later.
VCU played in the first ever 'First Four' where 4 'bubble teams' played to see who would make the Tournament. Now they just call all 4 games the 1st Round.
I'm not sure the had this set up back when George Mason made their run. I know they certainly weren't the 64 or 65th best team in the field.

No. 16 North Carolina A&T (19-16) vs. No. 16 Liberty (15-20)

Game time: Tuesday, 6:40 p.m. ET (TruTV)

Why we're watching: If you're pulling for a small, unheralded school to win a game or two in the opening week of the tournament, Liberty could be your Cinderella.

And I offer a gentle reminder that there are both Skyline & Gold Star chili parlors in Greater Dayton. And I also highly recommend the chocolate malts at UDF.

Just heard the tickets are 60 bucks a pop. A pittance if I could have somehow been in Dayton instead of a stuck on a flight from DFW to IAD without internet access during the game.

Hello Liberty Fans...Sly Fox came on the A&T Sports website and invited us to join your conversation so I'm here! Let me start off by saying, like you we are excited and surprised to be playing this late in March. For nearly a decade we dominated our conference and went to the NCAA Tournament then our coach retired and we went through 15 years of hell. So we are glad to be back.

This is our coach's first year but he's been coaching for years and has been to the NCAA Tournament a lot. We didn't expect to win our conference this year because he's coaching the same players that haven't won a MEAC Tournament game in years. But somehow our coach got them ready and now we are in the big dance.

Enjoy the ride no matter what happens. This year is a "gift" for both teams no matter who wins tomorrow night.

By the way, the next time we get a chance to play in football in Greensboro will you guys come visit? We have a great facility and a fantastic marching band. And the greatest football atmosphere you will find around.

Okay I've got to get on my game face, but we will talk again later...Aggie Pride!

Welcome to the board!

I am surprised that we have not scheduled each other in football this past decade. But I always love games with MEAC programs. Obviously things didn't go the way we expected this past fall in that regard. But I would appreciate a home-and-home series with the Aggies.

Thanks, kdinva! It would be great to give the Big South a little more street cred with another 1st Round victory.

I hope every team loses except Duke, Miami, Ole Miss and LU. I hope the #1 seeds go out early.

Question: If Liberty wins on Tuesday night in the First Round play-in game against NC A&T, does the win actually count as an official NCAA Tournament win historically in terms of the NCAA Tournament? Example: Liberty currently has (2) Tournament Appearances in 1994 & 2004 & has an official NCAA Tournament record of 0-2.

I'm not personally interested in Liberty scoring the moral victory. Although a win is a win and more importantly we survive to play another day and we get to play Louisville. But, I'm more just wanting to understand how this game or win would officially chaulk up.

Yes a win on Tuesday counts as an NCAA tournament win

There is no Play in game anymore. The Tournament starts tomorrow night with the NC A&T/Liberty game. The winner will have a tournament win. Did anyone see coach Layer via telephone on Katz Korner?
