I haven't watched an actual selection show in ages. I'm pumped about this one!

in all seriousness I know that we probably won't win even the play-in game, but I am so ridiculously excited that we have made it this far. I think we will at least be competitive in our play-in game

If we win it all, we can have a winning record.

Current ESPN projection has us playing Albany and staying in Dayton to face Indiana if we win.

The only reason we'd play Albany is because the NCAA wants an affirmative action game between the two MEAC and SWAC champions.
Watch it happen.

I try to ignore jbock's asinine political comments most of the time, but this one is just too stupid to leave alone. The reason we would be playing Albany could just as easily be explained by looking at RPI. Of the 4 teams that ESPN has as 16 seeds in the First Four games, Albany has the highest RPI and we have the lowest. That puts Southern at 2 and Morgan St. at 3. That's a simple 1 v 4 and 2 v 3 setup despite your ignorant trolling.

You actually make a good point that i should have considered, beside your ill-conceived slander. It's okay, I forgive you. This board wouldn't be nearly as fun without you around.

You've gone from blow hard to troll. Is that a promotion?

Albany will be a 15. there are 4 teams with lower rpi's and they have a win against Udub.
NC A&T, Liberty, Southern, JMU, WKU. LIU. all lower.
NC A&T, Liberty, Southern, are three that def will get the play in game other one will be tough to decide. i think it will be LIU.
imo, Liberty vs LIU. in the dayton region with Indiana as the number 1.
edit: and yeah jbrock @$%% is getting old.

I ignore a ton of stuff on here but this is ridiculously stupid. WOW!
Anyway, I wanted to ask Postie why he thinks Liberty will probably lose the 1st round (it's not a play in btw)? I think they are playing well enough to certainly win their 1st matchup and depending on who they get matched up on in the 2nd round will have a chance to compete.
Good guard play plus size up front, why not Liberty?

I simply looked at it and assumed that the NCAA wanted a SWAC vs. MEAC matchup... and instead I should have looked at the RPI's and realized that made sense. It's my fault.
Sorry. What I said was stupid and unfair to everybody. Ill try to be more careful about what I say. It was ignorant.

One of the few people on this board or everyday life for that matter, to admit fault and correctly apologize. Good job.

Count me among those who believe the NCAA would prefer to not have the two HBCU champs face each other in the 1st Round. But it would assure at least one of them getting to the 2nd Round.

Assuring one in the second round comes when one of them isn't put in the play-in games altogether. Somewhere I heard years ago that the selection committee does everything possible to avoid both HBCU conference reps from bein in the play-in's, let alone against one another.

I am not saying we don't have a chance. Its more of a defense mechanism for me so I am not disappointed as much if we lose. 10 years following Liberty basketball has done that to me. I think we will compete and if we do that of course we have a chance. A year of inconsistant play doesn't get completely erased from my brain because of a hot streak either.
Again, I think we have a shot but the realist in me doesn't think we will win. Then again I thought we would be out in the 1st round of the big south tournament, so what do i really know?
(The first 4 will always be thought of as play-in games in my head, sorry scar!!)

I heard that a couple years ago myself JK37. Us playing NC A&T seems to confirm that. We have to go all the way to Ohio to play a school that's two hours down the road LOL.
