I apologize for having underestimated the fortitude and determination of this squad just a few days ago. In the words of Rudy T, you guys showed the heart of a champion.

Forgive me coach and team. I was wrong to call you pathetic. No excuses. I believe in you again. No matter what happens from here on out, you gave us one of the greatest weeks in the history of Liberty basketball. I am forever grateful.

Im sorry I lost faith in this team. I really thought we were looking at the end when we started 0-8 and then were staring another one and done tournament squarely in the face when the bracket came out before the tournament started...to see the guys rally after the loss to HPU, beat Radford and then knock off BOTH #1 seeds and the hottest team coming in in Gardner-Webb AND beat the host team who had only lost three games in their own building all season absolutely blew my mind.

Oh and PA...even in sarcasm, pride cometh before destruction (or however that verse goes)

For months I've been criticizing how awful our offense was amd how incompetent Layer was for not trying to fix it. Well.. He did. And now they're big south champs. Forgive me for my lack of faith.

I apologize i began this morning thinking both my teams in their championships would let me down. I was wrong.

I didn't think this team had any chance in the world. I apologize for my lack of faith! Well done coach Layer, well done.

We could go back and copy/paste all our words and try to eat them.

This was probably the best week of basketball Liberty has had along with the 04 run since i've followed Lu. Congrats to the team and the coaching staff. I don't think even they thought they had it in them but we looked like a competely different team starting at the Radford game. JCS, Davon, and Trap really carried us. The bigs played their roles well and rebounded and scored just enough.

I've NEVER been more proud to say I was wrong. I really am happy for Layer especially and i know a lot of us have praised his character and work ethic but questioned his recruiting/coaching but today you can be proud of the last week of basketball...just incredible. 5 wins in 8 days...Sweet.

Anyone catch ESPN calling our coach Laney?

Well, it seems to have worked once so even tho i'm a lil new ill say this. I think Layer should be fired if we don't at least get to the sweet 16. LOL. Hey the last time it was said, ended up winning a BSC chip, so lets see what happens now with this roll of the dice.

I am sorry for what I posted on the LU Athletics Facebook page not too long ago. They asked for reasons to come out and support the baseball team, and I said something to the effect of "because the basketball team stinks."

Maybe they put that up on the bulletin board or something, or maybe I just lost faith, but I am certainly happy to have been proven wrong. Now we just gotta win one more
